I recently did crew for a community theater production of this show, and it gave me many more plotbunnies than expected. Since the Urinetown fandom is... non-existant, I thought someone else might enjoy this little ficlet I've managed to write.
Disclaimer: Urinetown doesn't belong to me under any circumstances.
Children Are Either Very Perceptive or Rather Silly
Officers Lockstock and Barrel were no longer bothered when a certain Little Sally would visit them at odd hours of the day (and night, on rare occasions). They generally didn't care when she happened to be there at meal time, or just before the nightly rush (Lockstock swore that the longer they talked, the shorter the line got, but that had to be a coincidence). And it was really rather nice when she dropped by for no real reason, especially on those dull days when no one really felt like breaking the law.
There was one night in particular that stood out when it came to this. Lockstock was trying to teach her Texas Hold 'Em, while Barrel attempted to discourage gambling. As the two argued in a friendly manner, Little Sally mentioned that she really liked spending time with them; and it felt almost like she had parents again; and it was really fun to have two fathers, y'know?
Neither cop could decide whether that bothered them or not.
