He was tired. Deathly tired, and yeah, he knew what that felt like from experience, literally.
He was weary to the bone. He ached so badly from so many places that he could not tell one injury from another anymore. There was blood trickling down his face, and probably broken glass in his hair, but he refused to give in to his body, not yet.
He had a goal, and he'd almost reached it. There, in front of him, the comforting lights a motel room.
Just a few steps more… one… two…
He collapsed just as strong arms caught him.
