Walking down the long, thin hall on the seventh floor of the Takahashi apartment building, my phone rang. I unzipped the largest pocket of my backpack and dug my hand into it. Grabbing my phone was quite a challenge with a heap of crafting materials and textbooks packed up untidily on top of it. When I finally managed to take it out, I answered the call. "Hey, Miku."

"Hey," said Miku. "What's going on?"

"Heading over to Len's house."

"Oooooh!"

"Relax, Miku. We got paired up for a biology project, big deal. We may look alike, but I hardly know him."

"Well, you never know what might happen between you two."

"Yeah, I guess not. Well, bye!"

"Bye."

I hung up and pocketed my phone. Realizing I passed Len's apartment, 7F, I turned around and walked a few meters until I reached the correct place.

I knocked on the shiny wooden door. Before I could return my arm to my side, the door opened.

Once Len saw my face, he smiled diffidently. "Hi..."

"Hello." I said in response.

"Please come in."

I stepped into the doorway of the unkempt apartment scrupulously. There were pieces of popcorn and dirty clothes scattered across the floor. The air reeked of cheesy chips mixed with air freshener.

Wow, I thought. Len's remiss nature really messed up this place.

I'd consider his apartment the messiest place I had ever seen, but I tried to ignore it. We had a project to do, and I didn't want to waste time.

We both sat down at the table that doubled as a kitchenette counter. I sat my backpack on the empty chair and took out my notebook. "I was thinking we could do our project on plant biology."

"Sounds good," replied Len. "I'll get out some soda in case we're thirsty."

"Thanks!"

When Len came back with the two cans of ice cold Dr. Pepper, I got right to work on drawing and labeling a plant.

"Done!" I said when I finally finished.

"Ooh! Let me see!" said Len. He scooted over so that he could see my drawing better. Unfortunately, he knocked over my drink by accident. My drawing was soaked.

"Oh my gosh, Rin! I'm so sorry!" Len apologized.

I'm not going to lie, I was pretty furious. But I held in my anger, and let out a simple "It's okay," instead.

"I'll get some paper towels," Len promised. "Don't worry."

Len rushed into the small kitchen and tore about ten paper towels off of the roll. He began to wipe up the soda, but I took some the paper towels and began to dry the table myself.

When the table was no longer drenched in soft drink, I began drawing another flower.

"There's a stray mark next to the leaves," informed Len. "I'll erase it for you."

He grabbed my paper and pencil and began to erase, but the eraser tore a huge hole in the picture.

"Oh no!" cried Len. "Not again!"

I sighed. "How about we just... take a break?"

Len's eyes lit up, and his facial expression went from disappointed to excited.

"I'd love to! There's this movie that I wanted to watch..."

"Yes?" I said, wanting him to continue.

"And... I was hoping you would watch it with me."

"I would love to watch it with you."

I was excited to watch the movie with Len, but little did I know that it was a horror movie.

The more and more screams that I heard, the closer and closer I got to the blue-eyed blonde.

By the final few shrieks, Len's arm was wrapped around me tight. When the credits were rolling my face was buried in his shoulder, and I was crying.

Len began lightly patting my back. "Shhhh... It'll be alright... Don't cry..."

I looked at him, his face blurred by my tears. "Ar-.. are you sure?"

"Does this answer your question?"

I opened my mouth to speak, but I was interrupted by his soft, sweet lips gently touching mine.

That definitely answered my question.
