Summary: They always said that there was a fine line between love and hate, but Sirius had never realized how true this was until he lived it.

WARNINGS!: This story will contain Slash (boy X boy), incest, as well as some coarse language.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or any other part of the potterverse in any way, shape, or form.

Author' Note: I know that this is an extremely short chapter, but it expresses all that I wanted in the first chapter, so I see no real point in beefing it up. Sorry if you don't agree. Either way, I hope you enjoy my work.

IMPORTANT: In my story, Regulus is in the same year as Sirius, though he is ten months younger than his brother.

Reviews are AMAZING things.

Walking The Line

Chapter One

"Things are going to be really different now aren't they?" Regulus whispered into the darkness. His warm breath tickling his brother' neck as he burrowed deeper into Sirius' side. Taking comfort in the warm body besides him, and the reassuring weight of his brother' arms encircling him; holding him tight. He would dearly miss these times they spent together.

When no answer other than a soft kiss pressed to his brow was forthcoming, Reg took the silence for assent.

"I'll miss you too," he said softly before closing his eyes once more, intent on sleep.

"I love you." Sirius whispered softly when he felt more than heard Regulus' breathing even out as he succumbed to sleep. Regulus, who had just been on the edge of sleep, fell asleep with a smile on his face.

Little did either of them know how greatly going to Hogwarts would change their relationship. But knowing each other as they did, they did not expect to end up in the same house...And so, they spent even more time together before they were inevitably separated, which made moments like these doubly precious to the boys.

Moments, in which they knew without a doubt that they were loved.

If you have the time, a review would be great. :)
