Note: So this is my REAL reason why Lamb and Veronica stopped talking.
Veronica was helping Lamb around the station, like she'd used to before she'd befriended Lilly. Standing in the Evidence Locker, they were smiling as if nothing had changed and they didn't rarely hang out together any more. Lamb's back was against the shelves, with his muscled arms crossed lazily before him. Veronica was standing in front of him, laughing and smiling like she'd used to before the Kane family entered her life. She was looking at him like he was the greatest thing on earth, like he was some kind of superhero.
Suddenly, Veronica stretched up onto her toes and kissed Lamb's smiling lips. As she pulled away with red cheeks and downcast eyes Lamb stared in shock at the petite blonde. An awkward silence hung in the air between them as Veronica avoided Lamb's stare and instead scuffed her feet nervously and picked at her nails. In an impulsive (and most likely inappropriate) move Lamb ducked his head down to Veronica's height and placed his lips onto hers, slowly slipping his tongue into her mouth and gently guiding her through the motions. Greedily he pushed her against the rows of boxes and wrapped an arm around her slim stomach, allowing her to slowly drape her arms behind his neck and nervously explore his mouth. This was wrong, so so wrong, he knew that. Veronica was years younger than him, and her father was his boss! But he couldn't deny that this is what he'd been dreaming of since he discovered Veronica as a teen.
Lamb pushed his body closer into hers and slid his hand along her figure, as Veronica placed her hands in his hair. "Veronica? Come on, Dorkus, where are you?!" Lamb withdrew his lips and allowed Veronica's escape under his arm. He stared after her, dazed, as she grabbed her bag and ran to Lilly with flushed cheeks. He watched from the Evidence Locker door while Lilly appraised Veronica's red cheeks with apprehension as the two blondes left the station. Veronica threw a longing glance and a little smile back to Lamb and tucked her blonder locks behind her neck and Lamb found himself wishing to run his hands through her long hair. Their eyes meet and they made a silent promise to talk about it soon, or at least have a repeat.
The next day a call came through dispatch requesting immediate assistance at the Kane Residence. They found a blonde haired teen with her skull smashed in, and before Lamb recognised that it was defiantly Lilly Kane his stomach threatened to empty itself threw his mouth with fear of discovering Veronica bloodied and broken.
Life got in the way. Veronica's world collapsed with the death of her best friend, the disappearance of her mother, the silence from her boyfriend and the cruel remarks from her friends. Lamb's world became more complicated with a promotion, a well publicised investigation, and the sudden return of an old foe. They never made true to their silent promise, and eventually both learnt to pretend that nothing had happened in the Evidence Locker that day.
Veronica and Lamb were experts at acting, they pretended that they'd never meant anything to each other, pretended that Lamb's tongue had never been inside Veronica's mouth. After all, those memories were buried, just like Lilly.
