Sakura walked up the hill to the open field of flowers and big trees. One of the beautiful and natural places left in the outskirts of Konoha. It wasn't even outskirts just away from the city centre.
Her eye caught the white hokage robe. It belonged to the seventh. She slowly made her way up to Naruto. Even though he didn't turn to look at her she knew that he had heard her. He had heard her soft footsteps behind him but chose not to turn to look at his former teammate.
When she came close enough he let out a sigh and spoke for the first time, "Sasuke sent a letter, he won't be back this year either."
"Hmm", Sakura let out a sound of displeasure, she already suspected that when the hokage had asked her to meet him.
" You okay", he asked.
"I'll be alright its Sarada I'm worried about", she replied in a toned out voice.
" Ask me if you need any help", he turned around to face her and looked deep in her eyes as if he see into her.
"You know I would, how about you speak about why you actually called me here", Sakura asked while sitting down beside him.
When he didn't speak she nudged him with her elbow," how is Hinata doing?"
"You know I don't want to talk about her or your husband", he looked irritated.
" You know I don't want to talk about that either", she told him.
"About what, that I still love you and you love me", Naruto almost shouted out.
Sakura looked at him with disbelief at what she was hearing.
" I though we agreed to not talk about that", she said between gritted teeth.
"You can't keep lying, the world we live in we could die any day I don't care, we'll be careful"
She sighed, "No matter how careful we are, someone will know and even the kinds are growing up know. You will have a daughter in 2 months."
"Do you love me?", he looked at her straight. When she didn't answer but turned her head he became agitated more and more.
Finally she spoke," You know I do, you know that it hurts me that we can't get what we want so why do you continue to keep bringing it up." She looked away, she looked far away at the line of trees mixing into the blue sky.
"You know that we can't always get what we want, but continue to love each other because that's how emotions work. We end up loving people we can never be close to so forget this", she turned to look at him.
Naruto didn't say anything he leaned in and captured her lips in a soft melting kiss, one which connected them told them what couldn't be told.
He told her one last thing," I will always love you like I haven't loved anyone else"
When they broke apart Sakura looked at him with sad eyes and smiled one last time,"nothing will change how I feel for you" before she turned and walked away.
Naruto knew that they couldn't be together but that didn't mean he could just let go of what he felt. As she walked down the hill he once again faced to the far trees as he smiled to himself as tears escaped his eyes.
