T'was a prompt for my Alaude indie, from my Cavallone Primo. The prompt was this:
Warmth: Our muses doing something fluffy and cute together.
Enjoy, and KHR is not mine!
Alaude sighed, a hand over his eyes as he tried not to roll them in exasperation. He peeked out from behind them to see Niccolo rushing around the kitchen in a futile attempt to get everything done. He opened his mouth to say something, barely getting out a syllable before being reprimanded by Niccolo.
"M'uccello, eyes covered," chastised the raven, covering Alaude's eyes with the blond's own hand.
Alaude grumbled some words under his breath, ones that were better unheard. He actually needed to know what this entire fuss was about before he arrested Niccolo for foolishness. Well, if you could even arrest someone for that. He'd try anyway.
"Now?" the skylark asked, almost impatiently. He tapped his foot as a sign that Niccolo really should hurry up.
"Now, uccello," Niccolo spoke. When Alaude opened his eyes, he found the raven don with a bright smile on his face, and two slices of cake in his hands.
Alaude stared blankly for a few minutes, before he sighed. "Really. That's what all the fuss was about?"
Niccolo blinked. "Are you not pleased?" There came his notorious puppy eyes.
Alaude winced in return, frowning at the outcome. "Wipe that look off your face. And hurry up." He glanced away.
Niccolo chuckled, and walked closer to Alaude's side, placing the two plates on the counter, both complete with their own fork. He offered a plate to Alaude, and was pleased when the blond took it.
And then came the normal ritual of Alaude and Niccolo waiting for the other to take the first bite. Of course, Niccolo wouldn't have it and simply tapped Alaude on the shoulder.
The blond turned to face the man, opening his mouth to ask what… and then blinked at the sudden intrusion of a fork in his mouth. He frowned in displeasure, simply eating the offered bite of cake before sighing. He picked up a piece of his own dessert, and offered that to Niccolo.
And thus, that was their compromise forever. It would all start with Niccolo feeding him the first bite, and the two exchanging thereafter.
