I hate her. Everything about her is so infuriating. She is the cruelest girl I know. She schemes and manipulates, and she always gets what she wants. She took the one thing I wanted most; the only girl who had ever made my heart skip.

Carly is a goddess. She's perfect in every single way. She can make anyone melt with just a single look. She's so caring and sweet that she innocently strings along men and women. She doesn't even notice when someone loves her unless their tongue is down her throat. In fact, no one has even gotten that close, except for that thing.

I thought she was just playing with my mind; that she just wanted to win at everything. She knew my feelings for Carly, everyone did, and she always felt the need to tell me that nothing would ever happen. I never believed her, though. I always had hope that possibly Carly would see my feelings and return them. But, one day Sam crushed all my hopes.

I entered her house anytime without invitations because I carried a key in case her brother ever forgot his. I walked into her home and I didn't see anyone so I decided to get everything set up for the show that night. As I was putting everything together I heard a soft moan. I stopped and made my way towards the noise that now seemed to be amplified in my head. I paused with my hand on the doorknob to Carly's room. I knew what I was going to find, but I was not prepared for who it was going to be.

I cautiously opened the door just enough to get a clear view of the bed. The only thing I could see other than the mass under the covers was long blonde hair moving rhythmically with the dark brown locks underneath. I silently shut the door and went back to the studio before I left the apartment.

"Carly!" Sam yelled with her head inside the freezer. She was wearing Carly's clothes because she couldn't find her own after their little escapade.

"What do you want, Sam?" Carly yelled back as she skipped down the stairs. Sam slammed the freezer shut as she turned towards her girlfriend.

"I need my Ben & Jerry's. You know that I always have to have it after we… you know." Sam smirked as her arm snaked around the other girl's waist.

"I'm sorry, Sam," she placed a light peck on the blonde's nose. "We'll go buy some, but I'll remember to keep it stocked from now on." Sam tightened her grip and kissed her before she let go.

"Let me just go get my shoes." Sam sprinted upstairs and grabbed her shoes. On her way through the studio she noticed a letter with her name on the closed laptop. She picked it up and plopped down on a beanbag chair as she opened the letter.

Sam,

Congratulations. I guess you got what you wanted. I don't know why I never saw it before, but I suppose you've always loved her. I won't deny that I am incredibly jealous, but I understand that it's what she wants too. I want you to know that if you ever hurt her in any way, I will be right there to put you in your place and to pick up the broken pieces. I suggest that we never speak about any of this, and please don't tell Carly that I know. I doubt I need to tell you this, but take good care of her. I will back off now and allow her to be happy with you.

Freddie

Sam had to reread the letter three times before she understood it. She smiled softly at her victory and the compassion of the love-struck boy. She vowed that the next time she saw the little pest she would be nicer to him. But right now, she had to enjoy some ice cream with the love of her life.
