Heather held tight to the crying child in her arms as the building exploded with them inside. She wrapped as much of her burnt and injured body around the small figure as she could as they were sent flying with ash, flames and debris onto the ground. It felt as if all her bones were breaking, as she hit the ground. She quickly rolled herself over to block the small boy from the debris that were still falling.

Shadow was trying to comfort a screaming woman who was on he knees, as all the fire fighters behind them watched in shock as the building exploded.
"Your child will be fine, Heather doesn't let anyone get hurt when she's around." He said as he bent down, looking towards the flaming debris in hope, sadness, and worry.
Just then, moans and the shifting of rubble were heard. Shadow and Kenny were the first to start pulling away debris, but Carter wasn't too far behind.
When Heather's torn and burnt blue shirt was visible, everything became more rushed.
Activity around the pile of rubble and ashes ceased shortly after, though, when a cross of wires and large pipes were discovered to be resting on the aching girls back.
"MY CHILD! WHERE IS MY CHILD?" The woman could be heard in the background, thinking only the worst thoughts.
"Your child's fine." A slightly croaky voice seemed to rush out of Heather's body. "He isn't burnt at all. Nothing landed on him, he didn't hit the ground under me, and he is very much awake."
The woman looked around in anguish, trying to find the source of the voice.
Wires touched and sparked, burning her body even more as Heather arched, pushing the load from her back.
There, standing before the people of Angle Cove, was a young teen, her face smeared with sweat and ash, but what caught everyone's attention was the figure in the bright green shirt who was wrapped in her arms. Cheers erupted from the crowd of gathered figures.
She sat the child down as coughs racked her body, and her two friends supported her fatigued body as the cheers quieted, and the rest of the people were tended to.
"Your going to a hospital this time." Shadow said, almost in a mocking tone.
"I know." Heather said as the coughs started to subside.
