Bad Boy Bias

Cal: "If he's on the run, the first person I'd want to talk to is Emily."

Gillian: "Bad boy fixated on finding the truth. She probably feels like she's known him her whole life."

(from Season 2: "Black Friday")

Dr. Cal Lightman stood up and turned to head out with Dr. Gillian Foster to the break room to question his daughter Emily. After a few steps, he whirled back to face his colleague, "Foster, sounds like you've had some experience with bad boys yourself."

Her blue eyes gave him a deceptively demure look, "More and more so every day."

She sashayed out pausing to toss over her shoulder, "And you better believe I don't mean Loker."

"Reynolds, then?" He gestured for her to follow him as he ignored her snort of laughter.

"They're amateurs in the bad boy class and I only play in the big leagues at this stage of my life, Cal."

"You're pretty cheeky about this, love. All right then, once we wrap this up I'll put on my flowered apron again and we'll see what your experience has taught you."

Cal tucked that delightful idea into the back of his mind as he put on his serious parent face to confront Emily about Max's whereabouts. Fun later with Gillian, for now a teenage boy's future was at stake.

A/N: This is my first "Lie To Me" fic, I can't get enough of that chemistry between Foster and Lightman. It's especially dear when Emily is around. I hope I do this fandom justice since I'm definitely late to the party. Enjoy.
