The Last Time Lord?
As the flashing lights and regular beeps came from the UNIT control panel, all eyes were peeled away from the screens as he swaggered in. His brown eyes captivating the mind of every single person in the room, the look he constantly wore, so calm, it baffled everyone. He could stare into the face of death and still make a witty joke. That was why everyone called him for help. Everyone needs their doctor. The UNIT commander was the first to break the silence, an old travelling companion of the doctor, promoted since he last saw her. "Commander Martha Jones, Doctor." She smiled. He laughed "Martha Jones! You are brilliant!" Martha remained with a smile across her face "But I haven't done anything." The Doctor smiled back "But you're brilliant anyway!" Martha could hardly contain the blush across her cheek. "Martha, the readings, they don't make sense." A young woman with blonde hair walked up to the pair. The Doctor froze, scanning her face. "How are you here?" he looked concerned. The woman was just about to explain when a voice came from across the room "There's a rift in time, Rose came through it to help close it, she'll have a choice of which universe to stay in this time though, but if we don't hurry up, there won't be one for her to choose." The voice looked like it belonged to a normal UNIT soldier. Martha summoned the soldier "This is the Doctor." The soldier smiled "I know, I know quite a lot about him." The Doctor's eyes lit up, "Oh, do you now?" The female soldier smiled, "Born on Gallifrey, Time Lord…obviously, sadly, the last…known…Time Lord, usually travels with a companion, companion usually left heartbroken, unconscious or dead. But that's the spell you put people under Doctor, they fall in love with you and save you every time." Martha looked away and Rose walked off trying not to make eye contact. The Doctor was fascinated "Well, someone's done her homework. I can't say I know the same amount about you" "My name's Abbey, and I'm not human, that's all you need to know." A soldier walked up "Commander Jones, you're needed with the data team, they've found something." Martha sighed "I'll leave you to brief the Doctor Abbey, we need you on the move within the next 15 minutes, I'll meet you at the first point of contact." The Doctor laughed "Look at you Martha Jones!" Martha smiled and left the room. The Doctor turned to Abbey again, "Now…what do we do with you?" he smiled. Abbey looked at him, "We listen, everything's back, everything you've ever battled, and they're under the command of your arch nemesis, the master, he clearly is offering some kind of a challenge, normally you'd go on this alone, but because of my species I've been assigned to accompany you." Abbey began to leave the room "And that would be?" the Doctor called. Abbey smiled "Come here." The Doctor walked over to her. She pulled his hand over her heart, and then across her chest where another heartbeat could be felt. A huge smiled flooded across the Doctor's face "No…" Abbey raised a finger to her lips "Shh,"
