Hey this story is a bit of an experiment really it's the first time I have posted on so yeah :) Basically I wanted to escape the whole person asigned to help Steve and they fall in love thing and I am going to try to promise not to make my character into a Mary Sue, so please do tell me if its getting a bit like that. Anyways thank you

Prologue

SHIELD is not the avengers, not the small group of extraordinary people who publically saved the world almost a year ago, it is not an organisation of 'heroes' who the world have come to love and admire, no not at all. SHIELD is a network of legal killers and thieves who work behind the scenes doing the wrong things in order to slowly make the world right, we do not practice public heroics, we make sure you don't notice us. We have no time for love and compassion and despite what people think SHIELD are not always the 'good guys.' On the surface perhaps they could be seen as safe and as saviours but deep into the thick of it all, the agents nobody sees, the ones that barely exist the 'clean-up crew' we are not such angels we have no concern for collateral damage, silently rebuilding the world by means of destruction, tearing families apart crumbling society's from within. Our own sleep, if any, invaded by the horrors we have experienced, the crimes we have dutifully committed just so you can sleep at night. We are the very few agents, we are the zombies of our cause, with no conscience, no remorse, far beyond the likes of Hawkeye and the Black Widow. We are the true SHIELD, the SHIELD that no one sees, that no one wants to acknowledge not even Nick Fury, 'it's what has to be done, we need them, there is no other choice' is what he tells himself when he is feeling particularly guilty, not that he believes it mind….

I am Agent 6254 otherwise unknown as Agent Amélie Scott, the only female member of the Phoenix project but to the world I am just a number and I am content for that to be so
