Chapter 3

I opened the door to greet our first human visitor. Quinn Fabray stood at the door looking nervous and confused. "Hi Barbara, I thought I'd drop by to say hello," said Quinn. I smiled broadly at Quinn and welcomed her inside. My brother and sisters were sitting at the dinner table and waved at Quinn when she walked in the room. "Would you like a drink Quinn?" I asked. "No I'm fine, thank you" Quinn replied. I escorted Quinn into the lounge room so we could chat. John caught my eye after Quinn left the room and mouthed the words "be gentle".

I was seated opposite Quinn and after an awkward silence decided to start the conversation.

"Do you like being a Cheerio?" I asked.

"Yes, I am the head cheerleader and want to be popular," Quinn replied.

"Is it possible to be popular without being a Cheerio?" I asked.

"No, not really", Quinn replied sadly.

Quinn went on to explain that the she fell pregnant to Puck and had to give up cheerleading. She gave birth to a baby girl and named her Beth. She decided to give Beth up for adoption, a decision she regretted. Quinn's nervousness continued during the conversation. She was reluctant to make eye contact and preferred to stare at my legs. I have long legs which are toned and shiny. I don't understand why humans are attracted to physical beauty though didn't mind Quinn's attentions. In fact, if it were not for John's warning, Quinn's nervousness would have triggered my predatory nature. I might have provoked Quinn by slowly crossing my legs or gently lifting her chin each time her eyes didn't meet mine.

Quinn looked depressed so I sat next to her and held her hand. When she lifted her face to look into my eyes she started to sob uncontrollably. I wasn't sure why she was frightened and was worried about her. Her crying continued for a few minutes until she passed out. I gently carried her to my bedroom so she could rest. I sat at her bedside waiting for her to regain consciousness.
