Standing there, watching the two of them fight on...it made her feel uneasy in some way.
She had been there the entire time, not able to do a thing. Why was that? Couldn't she do something?
Everyone had come to rescue her, because they really did care for her, right?
But that just led to people getting hurt, people she cared about. That feeling really hurt her inside. Was she really worth all that much?
Her eyes traveled back to the fight before her. Shades of black and white flashing in out of her sight, stone shattering into pieces as time wore on and on.
She watched the boy with orange hair grit his teeth and charge forward once more. The look in his eyes was that of determination, that of fury. Why was he fighting? There was no other way, was there?
No...something else.
And all of a sudden, something was welling up inside of her as well.
She closed her eyes and thought of the people she had known all of this time...all of the friends that she had made so far. All of the people that cared about her. All of the people she cared about.
The ones that she loved, and the ones that loved her back.
"I want..."
A thought...one that blocked out all of the others from her head.
That feeling, even if it didn't last, was finding its way to her. What was it? It reminded her of something.
That was it. That time, when they all went to rescue Rukia. She remembered how badly she wanted to go to Soul Society, to save her from whatever terrible thing was going to happen.
She remembered how badly she wanted to do that. Was that feeling...was this what pushed everyone to come to this place, for her sake?
She could finally understand. For the first time since she had left Karakura, she could feel her heart resonate with those around her.
Her eyes caught something, and without thinking, she reacted.
The shield of light came between Ichigo and Ulquiorra's sword.
For the first time in what seemed like a long time, that desire had come to her.
At that moment, more than anything...she wanted to see everyone alright.
More than anything, she wanted to win.
