"Castiel?"
"Here...here ma'am." Castiel felt himself flush and he looked at the ground as the teacher called out his name. Everyone in the class' eyes flickered towards him as the teacher continued the roll call. Anxiety built in him. His new classmates were tying to disect him already, judging his abilities and strength.
"Class." The teacher said as she finished her roll. "I'd like to introduce our new student, Castiel. He will be training here to join the Garrison."
"Garrison? He doesn't even look fit to be a scribe!" The class busted out laughing and Cas' heart dropped so far down into his stomach it was like the only way to get it out was to throw it up.
"Bartholomew!" The teacher yelled astonished, but most of the students only reduced their laughs to chuckles. Bartholomew looked pleased with himself.
How am I going to survive this, Cas thought to himself.
It was midday as Castiel walked down the hallway towards his locker. All his classes in the morning block had been just as the first, and he had learned to just keep his head down and be silent. He almost wished he has been in Demon Studies instead. It would be better to be mocked by those strangers than his brothers and sisters, no matter how distant he seemed to be from them.
As Cas opened his locker he was thankful the hall was barren. Angels were chatty and demons were loud. He needed a break from the madness. Taking out his lunch, he sighed with relief he wouldn't be inducted to the dorms till next week. At least for now he could escape from the madness after the school day.
From a distant, he could hear the clapping of a heeled boot down the hallway. In attempt to leave before they saw him, he began to shove his books into the locker. But their stride was too fast, and he heard as the steps stuttered as they noticed him and slow down to approach Castiel.
"Well hello there." They called in a sly voice. Cas turned towards her.
"Hi..." He replied to her, refusing to make eye contact.
"New?" She asked cocking her head, smirking. She had the most beautiful brown hair and large brown eyes. Her persona radiated demon.
"Yes, I am Castiel. I shall be training with the Garrison." He said, trying to straighten his back.
"Garrison?" That's a...interesting choice there for ya...Castiel was it?"
"Yes."
"Well my blue eyes baby, I'll just call you Clarence." She said crossing her arms.
"Oh, okay..." Castiel was confused, but really he was always confused. Confusion is what lead him to the Garrison.
"Oh!" She said startled and then held out her hand. "I'm Meg by the way." Cas stared at her hand a while before he grabbed it and shook it. Part of him was relived that she was being so nice to him and half was worried about her intentions. He was always so worried when it came to demons.
"Do you have somewhere to eat?" She asked.
"Um...no, but... that's okay."
"Just come with me Clarence. I know some people I want to introduce you to."
They had been walking out of the campus and onto the surrounding grounds for awhile making Cas more and more worried, but he had nothing better to do. Meg noticed his hesitation.
"What is it, Clarence? Do you not trust me?" They started to walk through bushes and under trees. His tan blazer started to get caught on branches.
"No it's just-"
"We're here." Meg lead them into a small clearing where three boys sat smoking. One looked up with a smug smile.
"Meg!" He called out, his voice was mellow and soothing.
"Luci, I have some fresh meat for you." The boys started standing up and the one Meg called Luci walked towards them.
"Clarence, meet the schools Triple Threat; Lucifer, Crowley, and Gabriel."
