The envelope Reid's daughter had dropped in his lap on the way in the house was neatly addressed with a return address he didn't recognize.
The meaning of the Word

English II 3rd hour
Four years ago I thought I knew the meaning of the word 'Hero'.
I was wrong.
I was coming home from school four years ago when a police car pulled over next to me. He gave me the worst news any freshman in high school could get. My parents had been kidnapped. It was then that I met them. Or more importantly him. The BAU. The Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI. They profile the bad guys to help out the good guys.
The team that got my case was one of the best. They worked together under Agent Hotchner, or Hotch. He had eyes that saw to the center of things and could solve any problem. He was a hero.
Agent Rossi came next. AN un-retired FBI agent taking a break from writing his best sellers to work again in the field he helped found. He to was a hero.
Agent Jennifer 'JJ' Jerueo. She directed the media and spent hours alone in her office shifting through horrors knowing she could only help a few but still going each and every day because she knew she was doings some good. She was a hero.
Agent Emily Prentiss who had some influential mom who could have worked any job but instead chose to through herself into danger day in and day out for the good she could do. She was a hero.
Agent Derek Morgan. A real looker. He was the one out front rushing into battles guns drawn and blazing with no hint of fear for himself. He was a hero.
Then came the one who showed me what is really is to be a hero. His name is SSA Spencer Reid. He is not the most athletic. Nor is he all that good with a gun. He stayed with me and helped me through the hardest time of my life. Then I watched as he through himself into the danger. He made realize that heroes don't run around in flashy suits. Not in real life. They aren't always the strongest, nor the fastest, smartest, quickest, biggest, Nor are they the least afraid. No. they are the ones that choose courage over their fear. They choose it not for personal glory nor for recognition. No they choose it because they know that they are doing good. Hero's are everyday people in everyday situations who aren't not afraid. Hero's are the people who overcome fear to help their fellow man. Hero's aren't just the cops or the people that make the news. With this I face a new day with the hope that I can overcome fear and the knowledge that I to can be a hero.
"What's that honey?" Lila Spencer came to sit on the couch snuggling close next to her husband.
"An essay a girl wrote for school." Reid answered re-reading the letter carefully.
"What's it about?"
"It's a really good definition of the word hero." Reid answered a smile lighting his face.
