The marriage.
Jake's POV
I was finally back home. Ax was off somewhere eating cinnamon buns, and Rachel and Cassie were talking. Wouldn't you be if your best friend had died and you had a body, came back to life after being dead for three year's? Oh yeah.
I was reminiscing about old times. I was sitting there thinking about when we defeated the howlers at the Iskroot planet. I was currently thinking about when I kissed Cassie.
That was when I realized it. I was still in love with Cassie. I had thought that kind of relationship had ended years before. I loved Cassie. Oh, I loved her so much. I couldn't help it. I thought about it more.
There was no way I could get that relationship going again. I scolded myself. I couldn't start thinking that Cassie might even start to like me that way again. But I couldn't stop thinking about it.
The doorbell rang. I answered it. It was Cassie. I took a good look at her. She was beautiful. I stared for a second or two. Then I realized what I was doing.
"Oh, hi Cassie. Want to come in?"
"Yes, Thank you Jake." She came in.
We sat down.
"So..." I wasn't sure what to say. I stammered.
"Jake, I want to talk with you." So we talked.
Short, sweet, and to the point.
