This is a poem I based off of All in green went my love riding by E. E. Cummings. I do not own said poem.
Just a note so you don't get confused, two of the stanzas are "flashbacks". I will put them in italics.
Feedback is always appreciated. I know I'm not the best poet, but I needed to write this down; the last two line stanza kept going through my head.
Drenched in red came my love riding
On the pale wings of death
Coming for my blood.
I turned and saw you, cruelly smiling
I ran faster than before.
Fleeter was I when I was not bleeding
A long slow death
A cold pained death.
I recall your face, cruelly smiling
My tears can come no more.
I did not hear, your light feet
But felt your presense
Danger in the air.
I tripped and saw you, cruelly smiling
I fell and ran no more.
A stab in my back, a cry of pain
I broke into a run
A sluggish stumbling run
You crouched by me, cruelly smiling
It chilled me to the core
Knife in hand came my love riding
It buried in my chest
Spreading a crimson stain.
You laughed at me as I lay dying
I sighed and breathed no more.
