This is the short chapter one on a story that I have decided to
devote entirely to Luna. A neglected character to be sure.

Chapter One
*^*^*^*^*
I would like to make it perfectly clear now, that this whole
fiasco is not my idea. I have much better things to do than
laze about, hammering my paws against this infernal
keyboard for hours on end, trying to recall tidbits of my
kittenhood that may later prove to be good blackmail fodder.
Dear, sweet Serena, for all her growth and added wisdom of
ruling a kingdom, is still a Meatball Head when it comes to
scheming. She and the other scouts may rave all they like
about the "benefit for generations to come," but it all boils
down to that age old, adolescent habit of being overly nosy.
This, "everyone else has memoirs, you should have your
own, Luna" is simply a more devious way of spying than
hiding behind a waitress while eavesdropping. But just as
low, in my eye. And I would like to point out that, as a cat,
my eye is very low indeed.
Despite all of this, however, I feel that I am almost eager to
write my side of the story. Not because of a royal decree, or
because my daughter is as good at getting her way as the
princess, or even because if I don't, I know they'll get
Artemis to try, and I certainly don't want to be responsible for
any damage he does. No, I feel that my compelment to
entail my side of the greatest epic in Neo-Tokyo history
stems from the simple fact that *I have one.* I am not a
mindless feline that wanders the crystal walls of the palace,
warming laps and rubbing legs in hopes of a stray morsel. I
am not some nagging guardian that, one day appeared and
without any trace or sign, will one day vanish in the same
manner. I am Luna. I have a history, not all of it nice or
appropriate, and most definitely not all of it naps or
sunbathing.
But it is my life-my love, my loss, my gain-and I, Luna,
have lived it.
