A moment between Tony and Peter right before Peter dies. Obviously this is a huge spoiler alert if you haven't seen Infinity War so you have been warned!
"Mr. Stark…I don't feel so good." Were those…tears in Mr. Stark's eyes? Peter couldn't really tell. His vision was starting to get blurry from his own and suddenly, he had stumbled towards, clutching his side. Tony had rushed towards with seemingly inhuman speed to catch him.
"Easy kid, I got you. It's okay. You'll be okay." He was trying not to let his voice break. Peter knew. Nebula by now had stepped off to the side, not wanting to intrude on them is what the teen imagined she thought but she continued to stare on, as if she couldn't take her black pupiless eyes off of them. Something told him that she felt some remorse for Stark but he didn't know if that was just his mind thinking at the last second or if it was really what she was feeling.
He should have stayed on the bus.
"Mr. Stark p-please I-don't want to go, I don't want to go!" Now he was crying, tears flowing freely from his light brown eyes that could put a model's to shame. Peter didn't even realize he had tears rolling down his cheeks until he actually felt some of them roll off of his face and then onto Mr. Stark's clothes that were once his suit of glorious armor.
Peter would have given up ANYTHING in the past to be one of Mr. Stark's interns. It would have been such a cool job and he knew in his heart that he would have loved it but after he had gotten his powers…he knew that he would never get the chance to become what he wanted in life without consequences. People would hunt him and his family down if they ever found out and with the type of technology Stark developed, he would have never gotten away with his abilities so he kept to himself. Though on the inside, his heart still lingered towards that life that he so desperately wanted in the past.
His life changed though, whenever Tony had appeared at his aunt May's apartment and asked him to become apart of his team. It was a lot to take in of course. Fighting against Captain America?! I mean, how COOL is that?! Plus, going to Germany and meeting other superheroes apart of the Avengers?! It was a dream come true in all reality! However at that time, Peter never knew what would happen now. Dying in the arms of Tony Stark, the greatest engineer in the world in his opinion.
Over the last few years he had been with Mr. Stark, he had viewed him as a father figure because from what Peter could remember about his actual father, he was just like him. Amazing in all things and able to conquer most problems. He did see Thanos stab him but he felt it happen and when he did, his heart shattered instantly and Peter almost broke down at that point. This whole war was starting to take a toll on him and he never realized how much it was until that very moment. He was about to just leave Mantis and rush over to help the closest person he had as a father but he realized that the others needed him so he stayed behind to help.
"You are distraught, Spider Man. Why?"
He forgot that he had a hold on her so she wouldn't fall.
"I'm…okay. It's nothing."
He was a terrible liar.
Now though, it was his turn and he did NOT was to leave. Peter was so scared right now that he was sure under any other circumstances, he would start either having an anxiety or a panic attack.
"It's okay…I'm right here. You'll be okay, kid. Don't worry." Tony kept repeating that same statement over and over to him several times.
Suddenly Peter felt his legs give out….like they weren't there anymore and fell to the ground. Tony got down with him, clutching at the closest thing to a child he had gently as if a way to comfort him.
"I-I'm sorry, Mr. Stark. I'm sorry."
