A Chloe/Oliver fic.

...

Disclaimer: Nope, don't own Smallville.

...

A/N: Another one that just popped into my head, and had to get it down.

About how Oliver sees her like no one else does.

As always, please read and review, I live for feedback!

...

He was right, when he'd said that no one knew him like she did. But it went both ways.

No one had ever really known her like Oliver did. But really, they were the only ones in their group, in their little unit, that truly had something in common. Not the meteor abilities, not the super-powers ... they didn't have that. Chloe's were long-gone, anyway. No, all they had was the need to do something good in the world, and the ability to use whatever resources they had. He had his Green Arrow persona, and she had Watchtower. Neither one of them was bulletproof, they were super-fast or hard-wired to crack any computer known to man. They were just human ... humans who saved the world.

He saw her like no one else did. He saw the struggle within her, and he saw how much it meant to her to be a part of the unit. He saw how much she needed 'Watchtower'. Just like he needed 'Green Arrow'. Without their alter-egos, they were just Chloe and Oliver.

That wasn't so bad, though. Chloe and Oliver had a little something going for them, too. They didn't have to hide in the shadows, they didn't have to disguise their names and voices. They could go out in public, could have dinner together, could take a midnight walk. And they did.

Chloe didn't understand why people were so surprised at their relationship ... she couldn't see it going any other way. They were perfect for one another. He wasn't a billionaire playboy around her, he was just Oliver Queen, a guy who'd lost enough that it made him realize that he had a greater purpose. He didn't need to flaunt his money around with her, and she didn't need to dumb herself down for him. They were just together.

They were happy, and - dare they say - in love.

It may have shocked the rest of the world when he'd proposed to her, but she wasn't surprised. It helped that she'd found the ring a couple days ago, and had been waiting with bated breath for him to ask her, already knowing what her answer would be.

He saw her ... he knew her like no one else did. He knew what made her tick, he knew what made her smile, he knew just how to make her laugh until she collapsed, holding her stomach in humored protest. He knew when she was sad, and how to make her feel better, he knew when she was angry, and needed something to hit. He knew when she was craving something - not necessarily food or a good book - and was always more than willing to give her exactly what she needed.

He made her feel beautiful, he made her feel smart and funny, and he made her feel like she'd finally found the perfect guy for her.

So, when he'd asked her to marry him, she didn't have to think about her answer. All the laughs and smiles and tears and struggles and happiness rushed through her mind, in a quick whirr of images. She couldn't see herself being with anyone else.

Chloe had dropped to her knees, throwing her arms around Oliver's back, nodding as a single tear fell from her green eyes. It was the start of the rest of their lives, and she couldn't wait to see what else he had in store for her.

...

The end.

Well, what did you guys think? Like it, hate it?
