Whispers in the Rain
The people, they shuffle down streets.
The watch dog, among them he prowls.
The rain hits the concrete with pitters and patters,
Sirens blaze while the car engines growl.
…
Invisible, the flows of the ether,
But all of them, the watch dog sees.
Of people and secrets, their truths and their lies,
And of those who feed on misery.
…
With a touch of a button, the dog works his magic,
A new image on screens down the block.
Of scum counting their chickens early,
Gasps and cries echo throughout the flock.
…
The watch dog, he still hears the sirens,
His info, the police act on.
He pockets his phone, steps into the rain,
It's time for the dog to move on.
…
A cold wind blows down the wide streets,
Yet from his actions, he doesn't refrain.
For he's the watch dog of this city,
And ghost moving within the rain.
