"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."- Eleanor Roosevelt
He wanted to know what to do, what direction to take. Continue along the path he had heedlessly chosen, or make an illegal U-turn, head back to the Crossroads of Destiny? Doing so would proove that he had made the wrong decision… would it also mean that he was giving up?
All was silent as the two embraced each other with their eyes alone. An eerie red glow was cast over everything: it wasn't warm like fire, it was cold like death.
Giving Up… the one thing she never thought he would do… and after all this time, chasing the Avatar, in the pursuit of Honor.
"…No one can take your Honor, Zuko… There is only one person who controls your honor-"
"The Avatar!"
"no-"
"Father."
"No-"
"Azula?"
"NO! Zuko, You! You are the only one who can lose it or regain it. You didn't lose your honor when you stood up against that general, or when you refused to fight your father in the Agni Kai, not even when he scarred and banished you. You lost your Honor the moment you relied on someone else to restore it for you."
"Nobody respected me after that!"
"If you want others to respect you, you must first respect yourself for who you are. You must be fair and righteous in your actions. You must not lie, and you must always keep your word: Zuko, Do you betray those who trust you?"
He looked away. Uncle.
"Its Honor you seek, so you tell me Zuko, what would be the Honorable thing to do?"
A/N: My first submission!
Anyway, I see this as Ursa coming to Zuko in a delerious "spiritual sickness" dream, brought about by his most recent actions. But I also wrote it to accomidate the 'Ursa is Alive!' theory.
Reviews would be helpful, spot out any errors, or share any hints/tips to someone new to FanFiction.
