Warning: fluff. Bit OOC and a spot AU.
Blah blah: Draco/OC
Disclaimer: I wish I didn't have to keep saying I own nothing and am not going to try making money off this brilliance I wish was mine.
One Summer Day
It was June and the sun was shining brilliantly in the azure sky. Faint puffs of white dotted the sky randomly. Two figures were stretched lazily on a patch of grass in front of a brick house. The young woman had her hands behind her head and a smile played at the corners of her lips. Her eyes were closed as she soaked in the warm rays. The man beside her looked a bit uncomfortable in the direct sunlight but he didn't move.
"Thanks for coming outside with me Draco," the girl spoke. He nodded even though she couldn't see him. "I still can't believe you stayed here in the U.S. for so long. You seem to love Britain."
"I do, but it's nice here. I don't have to worry about work or anything right now."
"What do you do again?"
"I'm an auror. It's like the police force here, only now we're still rounding up dark wizards who want to avenge the Dark Lord or carry out his plans."
"I read that newspaper of yours this morning, The Daily Prophet, and they called him 'You-Know-Who.' Why do you call him the 'Dark Lord'?" Draco stiffened for a second as he hesitated to answer. The girl opened her eyes and turned her head so she could look at him.
"You were one of them weren't you?" She sat up and scooted closer to Draco. "You were one of his followers." Draco had the sleeves on his white button down rolled up and was now trying to tug them back down to cover his arms. The girl stopped him and gently pulled his marked arm toward her.
"This isn't just a tattoo, is it?" Draco shook his head slightly.
"No, it's not," he whispered. She traced the outline of it curiously with her fingertip, her touch soft.
"Just have it removed. At least here it only looks like a really cool tattoo and nobody will know the difference." If there was one thing Draco liked about this girl he found it was her bluntness at times.
"It's still a shameful reminder in my world. Anyone with the Dark Mark are frowned upon and hated." The girl frowned as she took Draco's hands in hers.
"So we will get it removed and when you go back it will be ok."
"It's still not that easy, but tomorrow I will go get it removed." Draco smiled. "Liese, I have to go back to London in a few days."
"Oh," her voice was quiet and laced with disappointment.
"I want you to come with me." Her eyes widened.
"Seriously! I would love to go with you! But I have to work too." She pouted. "Wait! Draco, I just remembered I have to go to London next week for some seminar! This is perfect!" Liese laughed happily as she flung her arms around Draco's neck. Draco chuckled and kissed her lightly.
"So, now that we have all that taken care of, I think I want some ice cream. Come on Draco, we're going downtown."
As Draco allowed himself to be pulled up off the grass he couldn't help but feel happier than he had in years. Going to America was one of the best decisions he made.

Notes: Gasp! Not slash! Yea, haha, rare that I write something not slash, but I got the idea for this little series of a Draco/OC and I got a niggle in my brain earlier whilst sitting outside. Thus the prequel to my fic was born. Suggestion: while you wait for me to update this and I Still Think, GO READ TO KILL A RIDDLE WITH STYLE BY SENORITA SPRINKLEBUNS!
