The Death of Finnick Odair… Sort of

Disclaimer: I don't know how my friend and I came up with the idea, but we had to do a Mockingjay/ Percy Jackson crossover. It just had to be done. I give all rights for coming up with the idea, to her, but the plot was all mine. I give the rights for writing these amazing stories to Suzanne Collins and Rick Riordan. I don't own anything that has to do with the books. Even though I totally would have wanted to. This is supposed to be a mini quest, during the time of the first, maybe second book. Anyway, enjoy!

Chapter 1: Under The Capitol

3:15 P.M.

Percy's POV

"ARE YOU SURE this is the right way, Annabeth?" I questioned. We had been sent here a couple days ago, at least, that's what it seemed like. Annabeth glared at me.

"Percy," she put a hand on her hip, "I've never been surer. We take a left at the tunnel up ahead." I squinted my eyes to see through the glare of the dark. It was pretty hard to make out, but it looked like there was a light coming from the right tunnel. The left tunnel looked condemned.

"Guys," Grover said nervously. He was never one to go down in tight places. Especially places underground. "I-I think we should keep going."

Annabeth sighed and pointed at me, "If someone wouldn't have questioned my directing skills, we would have been gone. Maybe we would have even found them like we were supposed to do."

I looked at her furiously. "Just because I suggested something means it's wrong? I'm not stupid, Annabeth! We were selected out of more experienced campers to go through with this quest! May I remind you that includes all of us?"

Her face turned bright red, her grey eyes burning with fury. "You say one more word Percy and I swear I'll-"

"You'll do what Annabeth?" I yelled at her. Grover's eyes widened and in one swift movement, he was in-between us. "Stop it! This is not what we're coming to! Especially here, especially now." His eyes pleaded for us to stop. I glared at Annabeth and settled down.

"Why don't you cut your losses," suggested Grover. "Annabeth will take the left tunnel, and Percy will take the right. Are problems are solved!" I know I'm not the fastest to catch on to some things, but I knew Grover was trying to slip one by us.

"Grover," I said politely. "And where would you be going?" He looked at the two tunnels and made a nervous bleating noise. "I'll wait here. Otherwise it would be-"

He stopped for a second turning towards the tunnel we came from. I shoved a hand in my coat pocket wrapping my hand around Riptide. "What is it?" my voice was shaky.

"Did you hear that? It sounded like 'ratness.'" I cracked a smile but it slowly fell away as I realized that he was serious. And then, I heard it. At first it sounded like a sharp hiss, not words. But then I heard it.

"Katniss," Annabeth and I said at the same time. They were close, with things coming after them. "Do you want to take our chances?" I wondered out loud. Annabeth and Grover nodded, and we all took off in separate directions.

Okay, okay. I know this was confusing. REALLY confusing. But it will make sense as time goes on. Trust me here, it'll make sense soon. I hope you enjoyed my story so far.
