Ok.. First attempt at a fanfiction.
Midnight the Umbreon sat outside, staring at the starlit night. He heard his children calling for their mother, Ruby the Espeon... He sighed as he stared up at the moon, thinking in his head, "They call for their mom, but they don't know that she's gone.. She's hopefully in a better place in the Afterlife."
It was autumn. Midnight's children were large enough to play outside of their home and they stayed near-by at all times. "Shikara! Stay away from that hedge! There's a bunch of Beedrills in there.." Midnight called to his middle child. Shikara stared at the hedge for a few moments before turning away and jumping into a pile of leaves. Her older sister, Miru, was watching the birds migrate. It was a true sight to behold when they started moving into different formations, gracefully flying across the air. Shikara's younger brother, Regi, was playing with Midnight's tail, which continuously frapped the young eevee in the head every time he tried biting it. Yakuri, the youngest of them all, was curled up sleeping in the warm sunlight, and Ricky, the second oldest, was staring intently at nothing.
Yakuri awoke when the sunlight was blocked out by a white puffy cloud lazily floating by. She stretched, shaking her body to get most of the leaves out of her light brown fur. Midnight knew Yakuri would some day be a Leafeon, judging by how much she loves the sunlight, Muri would probably be a Glaceon, seeing as she loved the freezing winters, Shikara would probably be a Flareon due to her firey personality and her love for the heat, Ricky would probably be an Umbreon because he loved the Dark, and Regi would be a Jolteon because the young boy loved every crack of electricity that was given off in the middle of a thunder storm.
Midnight's ears perked up when he heard the sound of thunder in the distance. His children seemed to have heard it too, because they started to walk into the house. Regi sat next to his father, excitement in the little Eevees eyes. Midnight smiled for the first time today. His son Regi seemed always mesmerised by the sight of lightning and the sound of thunder, while he himself thought about the first time he and Ruby had met. It was a thunderstorm the day they met, but he didn't want to tell his kids yet. They were too young to understand. Sometimes, his kids would ask him what their mother was like, or what she always used to do.
Dark clouds started to block out the sun by the time he realized he was daydreaming again. "Dad? Shouldn't we go back inside?" Regi asked. "Uhhm. Yeah." Midnight mustered as he stood. He shook the stiffness from his legs and walked back into the small place they call a house. All night the thunder boomed and the lightning lit the dark, gloomy night. The wind blew wildly. Everything seemed to hide from the vicious storm. Midnight opened his aching eyes slowly, counting his kids. 1... 2... 3... 4... Where's Regi? He immediately stood up, and walked outside. Regi sat on a rock, watching the wild lightning, listening to the drum roll of thunder, and feeling the ominous wind blow against his fur. Midnight again saw excitement in the child's eyes. He called out to Regi, "Regi! Time to go back inside. The storm is supposed to get worse!" Regi looked back at him with a smile, "Okay, Dad!" Regi started walking back, until a crack of lightning struck something near by. A tree started falling... Falling in Regi's direction.
I think it turned out ok... even though I barely used my brain to write it. If you could, tell me what you guys/gals think?
