The three of them sat in a row on the couch, Evan having placed himself between his parents, his hands laid on both their knees. From across the room the counselor smiles at the family before clearing her throat.

"How are things going?" Every session began this way.

"Pretty good." Louis replied this time with the standard. Last week it had been Lyla. As while Evan just nods eagerly. He had found them. He had found his family. After years of being told he was stuck in a fantasy and no reality would come to pass for this to happen.

"How are the music lessons going Evan?"

"Oh just wonderful. My teacher is really knowledgeable." In unplanned unison his parents make a noise in their throats. The smile on the counselor's face fades a bit.

"Is something the matter?" The two of them lean back to exchange looks outside Evan's eye line.

"He has a habit of not going. He's missed at least three lessons." Lyla says softly.

"Any reason as to why Evan?" He shrugs.

"He also gets upsets randomly when we have to go somewhere without him. He's always with me or Lyla though." Evan shrinks down on the cushion, uncommon anger starting to fill him. What was wrong with wanting to be with them? What was wrong with wanting to remain a family at all times possible?

"Is this true Evan?"

"I guess. I just like being with them."

"Of course. But you can't be with them all the time. You used to be quite indepent bef…"

"I don't want to talk about my life before them!" He shouts. It was a demand he had made before.

"Evan honey its okay." His mom tells him softly taking a hold of his hand.

"Is there anyway he, all of all can overcome this and move on?" Louis asks with a touch of despair in the words. He wanted his newly found family happy as possible. The demons not just Evan held, rather himself and Lyla made that impossible. Enough as they acted as if everything was fine it wasn't.

"Honestly I don't think anyone should overcome their past. They grow and learn from it. It takes a lot of love and support, but eventually the pain fades." Louis nods knowing she was right.

"I just fear I'll lose them. But not all the time, there are days being apart from one I don't even notice, and other days…"

"You end up missing your music lessons?' Evan shrugs. 'I think perhaps once a month you should be allowed a pass and cancel any plans need it be the music lesson or something else in which you have to be away from them both and you're struggling. However Evan you only get one a month."

"I like the sound of that."

"Is that okay?" She inquires towards his parents, they both smile and nod. 'Very good. Now Evan have you thought about what I asked our last session? About keeping the stage name August Rush?"

"I think I want to keep it. it's one of the few things from my life before I don't want to forget. Plus it helped me find my way home."
