I was bitten by two.
When your world comes crashing down:
You're meant to re-build it quickly with new knowledge…
I was crushed by mine, twice.
When fooled once;
You're meant to put shame upon that person…
I was fooled by the same two people, twice.
I had been fooled first. Lend to believe that the people I trusted only shared one kind of bond. How foolish was I to think that they weren't anymore. Not anymore existent than her Nevermore.
When you forgive;
You're meant to forget…
I forgave twice… but I could never forget again.
When your friend stabs you in the back;
You're meant to carry one with life as if nothing happened…
I carried one silently twice.
When searching for a new meaning in life;
You're meant to start like a baby with no prior knowledge…
I have searched twice.
When love is revealed;
You're meant to have been told who you are…
I have been told twice.
I had forgiven in vain and I was left to live with the pain. I searched for love in the most unorthodox methods… Always ending up in heart break or failure… To become numb and hollow inside, with no emotions was not the way… But only a step of the journey.
When your friends ask you to stay;
You're meant to be wary of them pulling you down…
I plummeted to rock bottom twice. It hurt twice as much the second time.
Though I was bitten by two snakes. Crushed by my world twice. Fooled twice so that the shame was upon me. Been stabbed twice in the same place with no room to heal… It only took one person to release me from my ivory tower…
Once bitten, twice shy…
It took a bite full of passion to open up my soul…
From a heart supposedly as dark as coal…
What would petty humans understand anyway?
I'd exchange a bite full of passion for a bite full of revenge any day…
