I didn't realize I had gotten to the car let alone got in until I had heard the bittersweet voice of an angel sent down to make my life hell.
"Hey, Space Case, what's with the goofy smile?" I turn ed in my seat to look at him. He looks... bored as always. Of course, why would I interest him? I'm not blonde. That's his "type". Arg!!!!!! So not fair!!! Oh, he's looking at me kind of worried. Maybe I should answer.
"It's none of your business." I try my best to sound annoyed.
He sighs, "Whatever, Princess! Just asking. You always say I'm rude. So, I thought I'd ask about your day." He's smirking now. Oh that can't be a good thing, "Although, it's not like anyone asked you out."
"That's what you think, Venturi, but Riley would disagree!" I retort turning to glare out my window. I was so excited just moments ago that Riley had finally asked me to go out with him but now with Derek here it felt.... wrong. I look back at him he is looking out the windshield, but I think I see something in his expression... hurt, jealousy, annoyance, and ----no, it couldn't be but I believe it is--- love? He already readjusted himself before I could be certain.
"Well, I feel bad for him." He shifts his eyes to me.
"DER-EK!" I shriek. I'm sure I'm red and I just might have steam coming out my ears. Then he smirks and my breathing and heart stops.
When they both start back, my breathing is ragged and my heartbeat erratic. I can pass this off as anger. I usually do. He knows it's coming: the screaming, the arguing, the PERSONAL HELL.
