"I have to find Derek." Octavia panted as she raced to her boyfriend's house on the Beacon Hills Preserve. She heard the howling behind her and pushed herself to run faster only to be tackled and pinned on the ground with Aiden above her. "Aiden! Stop before I-" She was cut off as he sank his teeth into her shoulder making her scream. "Derek!" She cried and just when she thought he was going to kill her , she heard the roar of her werewolf boyfriend. Aiden was ripped off of her and thrown against a tree. Derek knelt down and pulled Octavia into his arms. "Derek, my shoulder." She groaned as he stood up and carried her to his car. He sat in the driver's seat with her in his lap. He started up the car and started driving in the direction of the vet clinic. "Goodnight Derek," she slurred which caught his attention as he sped around a corner.
"No Octavia! Stay awake! Do not close your eyes." He begged as he pulled up in front of the animal clinic. He got out of the car and carried her to the door before kicking it open, grabbing the attention of the vet, Scott, and Sarah. "Deaton, she was attacked by Aiden. He bit her." He growled as he placed her on the metal table.
"How did he find her?" Scott asked.
"Probably her scent, she reeks of fear and anxiety." Sarah said.
"Okay, and why was she out in the preserve, especially at night?" Scott asked.
"My guess is that she was looking for someone." The vet deducted as he pulled out a sonogram from Octavia's back pocket. Derek quickly snatched it out of the vet's hands and scanned it.
"I knew there was a second heartbeat." Derek sighed as he passed the paper to Scott.
"It says that there are two consecutive heartbeats." Sarah whispered and used her enhanced hearing to zone in on Octavia and hear three different heartbeats. "Congratulations Derek!" Sarah grinned and noticed one of Derek's hands was in his pocket. "You were going to do it tonight, weren't you?"
"Yeah, Melissa gave me her blessing and I wanted her to wear my mom's ring." Derek smiled and that's when Octavia's eyes opened to reveal a pair of glowing yellow eyes. "Octavia, do you feel okay?" Derek asked as he grabbed her hand.
"I feel fine, but there's something I need to tell you." Octavia said as she sat up slowly, still holding his hand. "Derek, i'm pregnant and I don't know what-" Derek cut her off with a chaste kiss.
"Octavia, I love you and I will not love these kids… our kids any less."
"You saw the sonogram didn't you? You are so-" She paused. "Wait… did you say kids as in more than one?"
Derek nodded and Octavia's eyes went wide, no longer a glowing yellow.
"We're having twins. And there's something else…" He paused as he pulled out his mother's ring. "Octavia Rose Blake, will you marry me?" He asked as he got down on one knee.
"Derek, it's not just because I-"
"No, I was going to ask you tonight, regardless. So will you?"
"Yes! Yes, of course I will!" She squealed as he slid the ring on her tiny finger and cupped her face, kissing her softly. "I love you Derek Hale!" She murmured as she broke apart from him.
"I love you too, Octavia Blake-Hale." He whispered as he placed the palm of his hand on her stomach.
