Morpheus entered the dome shaped room, shutting the door quietly behind
him. The room was constructed of spare pieces of scrap metal that had been
welded together to make the temporary structure that housed, what Morpheus
considered to be, one of the greatest minds in Zion.
The room was smaller then most of the areas in Zion, due to the fact that it was created to house the temporary resident and one operator, required at all times. There was hardly any room for a visitor to move around.
Morpheus visited the room every time he returned back to the home of mankind. It was cluttered with wires and cables that were plugged into the person, lying on a metal cot, which was placed in the centre of the room. Hanging above was a computer screen that gave off the vital statistics of this persons well being. All this was linked to the operator's counter, where the operator of choice would watch and take care of the person.
Morpheus had been the one that had removed the subject from the Matrix 4 years ago. He had watched them carefully, trusting his instincts as he had done with others he had freed from the Matrix. It was the youngest person they had ever taken. At 14 years, they were not sure how the human body would react to being awakened into the real world. But Morpheus didn't want to treat this person as he had with the others. He did not want to use this person to fight the prolonged battle against machines, like others he had unplugged, not just yet. He knew that a 14-year-old body and mind was still too weak to comprehend the 'truth' and fight in Matrix. So he did what he had planned. He removed the subject from the Matrix, moved them to Zion, where the temporary station had been created and re-inserted its bodies into one of the many training programs. Each day, an operator was called upon to monitor and watch over the subject (which each one considered an honour).
People were wary when the idea was first announced. But reassurance was gradually put in its place. The subject knew about the Matrix and the real world. They knew that life was one struggle to fight, and they agreed to help Morpheus in any way possible. It was all a matter of time and patience before they could use the subject and see how much its training had achieved.
Morpheus called her, Nevaeh.
