Prompt 1: Rumble
Denzel walked down the street, trucks rumbling past him noisily. When he closed his eyes, he could imagine the sea instead of concrete, waves instead of wheels, as if Cloud had taken him along on his adventures, and they were facing out from Junon's beach, watching the dolphins.
Prompt 2: Road
Then, someone or other slammed down on his truck's horn, and the blaring cry reminded Denzel that he was in Midgar, not at the beach. It was pretty devastating, but he'd lived with worse, so he continued on his way, picking through the scrap metal and asphalt towards Seventh Heaven.
Prompt 3: Cry
As expected, Cloud wasn't home. He never was. Never. Denzel couldn't help it; he let out a quiet sob and ran back outside.
Prompt 4: Crowd
He found himself lost in a milling crowd, surrounded by the buzz of conversation. Dull clicks of shoes on the hard pavement; quick, soft, patter of children running through alleyways and across the roads; Denzel's hesitant, silent footsteps trapped within the muted commute.
Prompt 5: Voice
"Denzel?"
He turned at the sound of his name, almost afraid to hope.
Prompt 6: Rush
Denzel could feel the blood rushing through his veins, the adrenalin coursing through his body, his rewarded faith throbbing in his heart. He ran to the navy-clad blonde who was pushing his way through the crowd towards him.
