"Blay Buckle, check. Blay Rouzer, check. Rouze Absorber, check. King Rouzer, check. All 13 Undead Rouze Cards of the Spade suit, check. Alright, I'm good to go." I nodded to myself as I checked off every item off the list of things I have.
Today was a special day.
After spending six months saving up money doing part-time jobs, I'm finally able to go a Kamen Rider convention and show all my Kamen Rider Blade merchandise to my friends.
Oh right, sorry, I forgot to tell ya who I am first. I'm Kurogasa Kururugi; your average Tokusatsu fan of Kamen Rider Blade, in the great city of Tokyo, Japan. I'm 18 years old and have medium-length brown hair with a fringe that's swept to the right and have blue eyes. As for what I'm wearing to the convention, it was an indigo shirt with a gold Spade symbol having the Caucasus beetle on the Spade. And on the beetle, was a small red Spade symbol. I also wore light-blue denim jeans, black shoes, and a navy blue jacket with the BOARD logo on the front left side.
As mentioned before, I'm a Tokusatsu fan of Kamen Rider Blade. I know that show like the back of my hand. I even got all the Kamen Rider Blade merchandise. Well… not all of the Kamen Rider Blade merchandise. I only have the DX Blay Buckle, Blay Rouzer, Rouze Absorber, and King Rouzer toys. I didn't even bother to get Kamen Rider Chalice's, Leangle's, and Garren's toys. Plus, I only got the Spade suit Rouze Cards, not bothering to get the Heart, Club, and Diamond suit Rouze cards. Still, I'm not one to complain. For me, my collection is complete and I'm happy with it.
I was enjoying the moment until I heard a knock on my door.
*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*
Well whaddya know, my friends showed up on time. I went over to my door and before I could turned the door knob, it suddenly swung open and a blur immediately tackled me to the ground before putting me in a head lock.
"Hey, buddy! Today's the day! Are you ready for the convention?! Man, I'm so pumped for winning Best Costume of the Year this year!"
This is Storm Ryder, my best friend since childhood. He's about a year older than me, having short, spiky, black hair and brown eyes and he was going to be cosplaying as Kabuto… and I thought he was kidding. Other than the details of his costume, the only thing missing was his Kabuto helmet.
"Geez Storm, calm down…" I sighed. Then again, the only time he'll calm down is if his girlfriend gives him an egg burger. "Amber, are you there? Did you give him his egg burger yet?" I called out.
"Ah mou~! Storm, don't do that to him!" The girl now known as Amber groaned said as she came in my room. This was Amber Lockhart. She's about my age, having long black hair that reached down to the hips of her petite body and has innocent looking brown eyes. "You know what happened the last time you did that?" She asked as she had in her hand, Storm's kryptonite. As soon as he saw it, he immediately went to her, grabbed the egg burger, and ate it quietly on my bed. "Sorry about that, Kurogasa… just a few more seconds and you would've been nearly choked to death…" Amber apolgized with a polite bow. For her costume, she was dressed up as Pink Magiranger, and she looked pretty good in it. These two are my good friends, though I knew Storm a lot more than Amber because of his antics.
"By the way, is your Rider Machine ready?" Storm asked, after taking another bite of his egg burger.
"I hope it's coming along well." Amber replied.
"It's going great actually. The Blue Spader is all good to go." I said, giving a thumbs-up.
"Good, because my bike can't carry three people," Storm said before he finished his egg burger and jumped off of my bed. "I know I've been working on it. With my own Kabuto Extender, I'll be sure to win!"
"I can't wait to see Ayaka sing at the convention! I heard that she'll be there this year!" Amber gushed, ecstatic to know that her favorite singer is going to be there.
"Of course, she is married to the actor who played Souji Tendou in Kamen Rider Kabuto." I said.
"Well then, what are we waiting for? Christmas? C'mon! The show's about to start in half an hour and we don't want to miss the grand ceremony!" Storm urged while panicking, before he zoomed out of my room while patting the side of his belt to go into 'Clock Up' mode… sort of.
"Last one there has to pay for lunch! And I'm confident his super bike is going to beat yours, Kurogasa!" Amber challenged before she ran out.
"H-Hey, wait up!" I called out as I followed the two.
(Cue Sakura Meikyuu by Kanon Wakeshima)
(Instrumental) It starts off with a black background a white portal being in the middle. Seven people consisting of Kurogasa, Storm, Amber, Akira, Kurai, Melissa, and Mikoto in their normal clothes, were carrying their Rouzers and Buckles around their waist, while being absorbed into the portal by force as the camera zoomed in. When the music picks up, after exiting out from the portal, they have arrived in Magvel, showing the beautiful mountains, flower fields, and villages. When the violin played seriously, the camera zoomed forward, passing by all of the Sacred Stone characters who turned around to look at the camera until it led to Eirika and Ephraim before zooming out to the sky, showing the title with a few cards of different categories descending down in the background. Three piano chords set the three quick montages of the Riders' stance, their transformation by flipping, opening, or rousing their buckles, and 7 Category Aces ejecting out from their belts before it covered the whole screen and led to the next scene.
(Haritsumeta kodou no ito wo hajikarete) In the modern world, Kurogasa sped off down the road on his Blue Spader, along with Storm and Amber on his Kabuto Extender as they rolled out together side-by-side.
(Karadajuu ni haritsuku kurayami wa) As the bikers passed by, Mikoto walked happily with Akira, causing him to blush in front of the bakery. Inside the bakery, Melissa was enjoying her tea with Kurai and as she smiled, Kurai sweated bullets before drinking down his tea, confusing Melissa as she tilted her head at him.
(Anata wo madowase okashite yuku no?) The scene changes quickly to Magvel where Eirika was standing at the balcony, looking out into the horizon with a worried look on her face.
(Suujikango no unmei mo shiranai de) She then held her hands in a pray as images of King Fado, Ephraim, Tana and Lyon appear in the background before tears ran down her eyes and they splashed onto the ground, causing the whole screen to turn black before shifting to another scene.
(Kokoro ni kizanda, kono omoi wa kowasenai) At a Grado Temple, the six generals stood tall, looking at their advisories as the possessed Lyon appeared with an evil smirk and glare before the Demon King Formortiis and Joker Undead appeared in their true forms while glaring at the Riders and Eirika's army as they summoned a dark army from underground.
(Hazu~ nanoni) Kurogasa gripped on his Blay Rouzer tightly before the seven Riders dashed forward through the holograms, now donned in their armor.
(Anata no koe ga~ watashi wo hikimodosu~) The seven Riders slashed and shot out their way through the monster army as the regular army followed suit.
(Kuzureru, ashimoto ni sakura ga maichiru) Valter smirked as the Renais Twins confronted him with their weapons while the Riders dashed forward to face the Demon King and Joker Undead.
(Nomikomaresou na~ meikyuu wo kirisaite~) The Main Riders then assume their Jack Form and the Missing Aces assume their Trial Form, before they took off to the sky. Lance carried Glaive and Larc with his arms as Blade held Leangle's arms and Garren held Wild Chalice's arms before they reached a certain height while dodging the Demon King's and Joker Undead's attack.
(Tomaranai, watashi no netsu~ wo, kanjite ite!) Lance, Blade and Garren threw them up before the main Riders changed into their King Form. Four lines of five golden holograms appear in front of them to perform their Royal Straight Flushes as the Missing Aces used their Mighty attack. All of the attacks concentrated onto the main antagonists and they let out their final attacks simultaneously, before light engulfed the whole screen.
(Instrumental) The gems on Eirika and Ephraim's bracelets dimmed down and both looked at them before looking at the screen with a determined look as the song ended with five quick montages: the Seven riders in their civilian forms each with their happy faces, the Seven Riders in their armors, all of the male Sacred Stones' characters with their happy faces, all of female Sacred Stones' characters with their happy faces, and finally a longer montage of a sunset in the background as the camera slowly descended down from the sky to show the Blay Rouzer and Sieglinde crossed, while stabbed on the ground, ending the music.
Prologue: The Fall of Renais and the Rise of Blade
And so the three of us went on our way to the Tokyo International Forum where the convention was going to take place. It didn't take us long to get there, and by the time we did, I arrived first while Storm and Amber arrived a few seconds later. I took off my helmet and grinned smugly at them, saying, "You're paying for lunch, Storm."
"Mou~ you lost!" Amber pouted before, both of them took off their helmets.
"Well, a bet's a bet… you can't win 'em all…" Storm shrugged. Seconds later, we were swarmed by people who were cosplaying as various anime characters and they were interested over our rides. Storm who was wearing his Kabuto helmet, mounted off his bike, and did Tendo's iconic pose, "Tendou michi o iki, subete tsukasadoru otoko!" he quoted while were getting many snapshots from different angles from the otakus that were joining in.
"Well, we might as well put our rides on display. Who knows? We might win a category or two… and the prize money isn't that bad, from what I heard." Amber noted.
And she was right. The cash prize they prepared for the winners was enough to get back some of the money we used for our bikes and getting my Blade merchandise. I gotta remember though that this is her first time at a convention since Storm and I went to a few together before she came into our lives.
So we enjoyed the day at the convention and it was really fun. We went to all kinds of booths and kiosk stands, getting a few odds and ends from them and then we went to see Ayaka performing live. Amber more or less practically screamed in joy, being Ayaka's fan. She even got an autographed CD from her. And as a bonus, we got to meet Hiro Mizushima himself, the actor who portrayed Souji Tendou from Kamen Rider Kabuto which Storm got excited over too.
"So, are you having fun?" Storm asked Amber as we walked around the convention center.
"Of course I am." Amber grinned, kissing her boyfriend.
"Yeah, this year's convention was a lot better than last year." I commented.
As we continued walking, something caught my eye. I looked to my left and saw a door that was open. For some reason, I felt some sort of… odd presence coming from it.
Storm turned around, while looking at me. "Hey, buddy! Something wrong?"
I snapped out from my daze before returning to reality. "Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine."
"Really? For a moment there, you look like you've seen a ghost…"
"I'm fine, don't worry about it," I laughed sheepishly before he shrugged. For some reason, that door didn't attract anyone, as if they didn't notice it at all, not even my friends. To make things even stranger… the door… was actually calling for me…
Bah, whatever. I must be hearing things. I'll worry about it later.
It was around that time, that the judges declared the winner in the Best Bike category. Storm and I were happy about it because as it turns out… both of our rides won and they were tied for first place. I guess I can say that both of the series were really famous and what's more, we're getting the prize money… in cash! Storm used his part of the money to buy Amber, a Kamen Rider Larc suit. It was made for a girl her size and she fits really well in it. We also bought a briefcase that contained all of the remaining Rouze Cards aside from what I already have, including the Lance and Larc Buckles.
"I think we had enough fun today. Let's get some grub before heading back!" I told them, which Storm and Amber agreed to.
We took our bikes and tried to go out the main door, but there were so many people trying to get out. "Man, at this rate, we won't even get our bikes out!" Storm complained and I have to agree. This year's convention was a bit crowded.
Then I remembered that door I saw. "Hey, I know a way out. I saw a door earlier that led straight outside of this place." I suggested.
"Well, it's a lot better than getting through the crowd, I guess." Amber added before they followed me from behind. To be honest, that door really bugged me for some reason… so the three of us went towards the door and… I could've sworn I heard something.
'Help us…'
"Guys, did you hear that?" I asked as I stopped walking, making them stop too.
"Yeah… sounds like my stomach is hungry…" Storm commented before being pinched on the arm by Amber.
"No, silly! He meant someone calling for help." Amber scolded as she looked at me. "Is there someone in trouble?"
"Maybe…" I muttered.
'Help us…'
"There it is again!" I noticed.
"Wow, and I thought I was hearing things!" Storm realized. Geez, it took him that long to figure it out?
"Maybe there's a girl being toyed around by bad guys! We have to help her!" Amber said urgently. The three of us then dragged our bikes towards the door. When we opened the door, we saw a long and narrow dark hallway. It was too narrow and small for our bikes to go in, so we unfortunately had to leave them behind. Bringing all our other stuff with us, we ran in the dark hallway until seeing a light at the end. However, when we got to it, what came next was something we never expected. A dimension portal. It suddenly opened up and sucked all three of us in!
"H-Hey! What's happening?!" Amber panicked.
"You didn't tell me that door would do something like this!" Storm argued.
"I didn't know it would this either!" I shouted. "C'mon, hold hands and hang on!" I urged.
We tried with all our might, trying to reach each other and grab each other's hand, which fortunately we did. We continued spinning and swirling as we were going through this portal, and then…
Darkness…
"Kurogasa… Kurogasa… wake up."
I began stirring and groaning before I slowly came to. Looking at me were Storm and Amber, trying to wake up and… it was night time in the middle of a forest?! "Hey, buddy. Are you okay? Did you break any bones?" Storm asked. I shook my head and Amber sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness, you're alright. I thought we were done for…" She said while I sat up. Storm lent me his hand so he could pull me up to my feet.
"Where the heck are we?" Storm asked.
"No clue." Amber pointed out.
"Yeah… that portal transported us to who knows where." I added before I noticed something about my friends. "Storm, Amber, look at your clothes!" Even though it was nighttime, the full moon shone bright enough for us to see. Storm and Amber were wearing clothes reminiscent to that of the Medieval Era in the West. On Storm, the Kabuto armor he wore was no longer there. He wasn't even wearing his usual clothes. Instead, he had brown leather armor with a silver shirt, black pants, with brown boots and gloves. On his back, he had a lance strapped to his back. Amber was different too. She had the same brown leather armor, but with less padding and she wore a pink blouse with a dark blue skirt. She also wore long black boots and an elbow pad, with fingerless gloves. At her back, she had her bow and arrows. As for me, well, my clothes were something else too. I had silver armor over my blue shirt, white pants with silver knee pads, silver boots and a cape on my back. What's even weirder was that I had my Blay Rouzer dangling around at my side and Blay Buckle equipped on my waist.
"What's with these clothes?! It's like we're in the Medieval Era and… since when can any of us speak English?!" Storm asked, surprised. Truth to be told, he wasn't good with the subject, but hearing him speak English was definitely something.
"Something tells me we're not in the 21st century anymore…" Amber shivered while staying close to Storm.
"Yeah, no kidding. But until we know where we are, we better set up camp." I suggested.
"I guess so…" Storm agreed and the three of us set out to do our part of the job. I set up the campfire, while Amber and Storm got our food and drinks, which they did voluntarily. After a while, the campfire was made and Amber was able to get ourselves a rabbit for dinner, which was enough for the three of us. Though I was squeamish when Amber had to gut the rabbit of its organs and drain out its blood before cooking it.
"Man, I didn't know you could use a bow like that, Amber!" He praised while taking a sip of his drink. Yeah, he had cups from the bag he was carrying and he didn't even know about it.
"I didn't… that was my first time using a bow and arrow. Heck, I don't take archery classes at all but for some reason… I feel like I've been doing this multiple times…" Amber explained as she took a bite of her rabbit meat.
"That is weird." I pondered. "Still, being transported from the convention to this forest makes this even weirder." I then took the Blay Rouzer which… was real? No wonder it felt heavy!"Whoa, I didn't even notice but the Blay Rouzer is real guys!"
"Really?!" Storm and Amber asked surprised.
"I'm not kidding. Take a look." I said as I handed them the Blay Rouzer.
"You're right. It is real." Amber realized as she felt its weight.
"And the blade itself is metal and life-sized too." Storm added.
Okay, this is freaking me out. A while ago it was a DX plastic toy, and like all Kamen Rider swords, they're short and stubby, but now it's life-sized and real! I wonder…
Pausing from my thoughts to confirm this, I took out the Change Ace Beetle card from my pocket and looked at it. "Call me crazy, but my Change Beetle Rouze Card is show accurate and it's not in Japanese text!" I said. Storm was confused as Amber lifted up her briefcase but for some reason, it was a bit heavier than usual. She opened up her briefcase and found that the Lance and Larc belts were also real.
"And so are these buckles!" Amber added after tapping it a few times.
"Just what's going on around here?" Storm asked again. But before any of us could answer, we heard a scream coming nearby.
"Wait, did you guys hear that?" Amber asked.
"I did. C'mon let's go!" I urged.
"Where do you think you're going, you Renais dogs? There's no place for you to hide!" An enemy Fighter snarled as two people were surrounded from the front and back.
"We're outnumbered…" A Paladin gritted. He was a young knight in his mid-20's with red hair in teal blue armor on his torso and shoulders covering the shoulder cape. Underneath the armor he wore a brown trench coat, black pants, and teal greaves. However, there was a rather decent puncture wound on his side, stained with his blood as he held it while carrying his Silver Sword. He was protecting a beautiful young girl who was 18 and she had long, flowing, deep sky blue hair and eyes wearing gold armor with a cape over her red dress and white skirt. She also wore long red boots, a pair of red leather gloves, a golden loop around her waist, a bracelet on her wrist, golden earrings, and a rapier in its sheath around her waist. They had their backs against the wall, or in this case, backs against the trees as the enemy Fighters closed in on them. The Paladin kept gripping his side, which was deeply wounded.
"Seth, are you okay?!" The girl asked.
"I'm alright, Princess Eirika. But I don't think we can take them all at once…" Seth replied back.
"Now, be a good knight and little girl and let us chop your heads off!" The leader demanded.
Storm, Amber, and I followed the voices and after a while of creeping towards the source of the commotion, we hid in the bushes so they don't notice us. It turns out that these bandits are after this girl and knight and they were closing in on them for the kill. "Kurogasa, they're in trouble!" Amber whispered while Storm kept quiet.
"I know, I know. We're going to help them out." I gritted. "And I'd rather not kill anyone, but we don't have much of a choice. Alright, here's the plan, I'll distract them while you two go around and take those two hostages to safety."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! You can't just jump in there and go straight for the kill!" Storm shouted. I resisted to urge to facepalm since his shouting clearly attracted the attention of those Fighters and got himself a whack on the head, courtesy of Amber.
"You idiot! Why did you have to shout?!" Amber snapped angrily.
Well, so much for a surprise attack… okay then, Plan B.
"Who goes there?! Show yourself before we cut their heads off!" One of the Fighters threatened while aiming their Iron Axes at their necks. I sighed, before we eventually walked out from the bushes. "Oh, what do we have here? Some random hunters."
"Whoever you are, stay back! You're outnumbered!" The Paladin shouted at us before being hit in the face with the flat side of an Iron Axe.
"Seth!" The young girl shouted, going to his side.
Man, we gotta do something. But what can we do?! C'mon brain, think! Think!
…
…
…
…
Hold on, the Blay Rouzer is real, the Lance and Larc buckles are real, and the Change Beetle Rouze Card is show accurate. If they're real, then the Blay Buckle should be real too. There's only one way to find out. "Don't worry, we'll save you!" I assured, as I took the Change Beetle card out of my pocket. If my hunch is right, then it should work.
"Uh, what are you doing?" Storm asked. I ignored him as I slipped the Change Beetle card into the buckle and it suddenly came to life when I heard the pulsing sound. I then did the various movements Kenzaki Kazuma did. First I had my left fist at the side of my waist, facing upward then slowly raised my right arm over onto the left shoulder. I showed the back of my hand as my middle finger, ring finger, and pinkie were curled and index finger and thumb stuck out. I flicked my right wrist around showing my palm before shouting "Henshin!" and my right arm went down to grab and pull the lever of the belt. I raised my left hand at the same spot where my right hand was, mirroring that position. When I pulled the lever, the card inside the Blay Buckle was flipped over, revealing the red rectangle with the gold Spade suit.
TURN UP
To my surprise and delight, a blue rectangle of energy with the symbol of the Change Ace Beetle came out of the Blay Buckle surprising everyone watching. Storm, Amber, and I couldn't see the symbol, but the Fighters and the girl can. The blue energy rectangle pulled back towards me and I entered the energy rectangle as if going through a portal. As I soon as I crossed over; I was donned in the armor and it really surprised everyone.
I knew the suit by heart. It was a pure blue bodysuit. Along with the Blay Buckle at my waist, the torso armor was silver with a spade in the center and the shoulder pads were flat with gold decorations on the arms and spades on top. It had a gold band around the wrists and crisscrossed strips of metal on the boots. My helmet was blue with a silver face and a single horn rising up, emulating a European rhino beetle. I could see through the large round eye holes, and everything was tinted red. When the transformation was complete, for some reason my vision cleared so that I don't see red tint anywhere and I saw, everyone gaping at my new look.
I became Kamen Rider Blade!
"W-What kind of sorcery is this?!" The leader asked surprised.
"I don't know, boss! He must be some kind of demon!" A Fighter spoke up.
"Whoa, Kurogasa… I didn't know your belt can do that!" Storm gawked.
"Me either." I got out, as I looked at myself. "At first, I didn't think it would work but as soon as I pulled the lever on the belt, well… you get the idea…" I replied. At that point, I heard a long 'ding' from him.
"Amber, let's try out the Lance and Larc Buckles!" Storm told her, which she nodded at, putting down the briefcase. Opening it up, he gave the Larc Buckle to Amber. Both of them did the exact thing I did. First they pulled out the clear tab where they could insert their cards. They then showed their Change Keroberos Rouze Cards before sliding it in the card slot and slamming the clear tab into the Buckles. And to their surprise, their waists were wrapped around by a deck of cards before they turned into belts, hearing a pulsing sound on their buckles. Storm was in his stance, crossing his arms while Amber placed her hands at the sides of her buckle.
"Henshin!" Both of them shouted as they opened up their buckle by pushing one side open to reveal the green and red 'A's.
OPEN UP
A red and green rectangle appeared with the symbol of the Prototype Change Kerberos, surprising them. The rectangles went towards them, and once they crossed over, they were also donned in their armor.
Both of them were in a black bodysuit, donned with black armor with spiky shoulder pads, an 'A' insignia on their chest armor, and black greaves and boots. On their helmets, both had a long visor that stretched upwards on their black helmet. The only difference between the two was that Amber had a red 'A' and a green diamond on her helmet, while Storm had a green 'A' with a gold diamond on his helmet.
Storm and Amber changed into Kamen Rider Lance and Larc!
"Wow! I didn't know we could do it too!" Larc said, surprised to see herself in her armor.
"As much as I wanted to be Kabuto, I also like Blade, especially the movie one since they can use as many cards as they want!" Lance said normally, as both of them drew out their weapons, or in this case after a closer inspection, the Lance and Larc Rouzers, leaving the Fighters in pure shock.
"D-D-Demons! They are demons!" They began shouting as the girl kept the Paladin, Seth close to her. "Men, arm yourselves!"
"Demons?" The girl asked.
"Attack!" The leader yelled.
"Let's counter back with a full house!" Larc shouted as the three of us, went against the twenty of them. Storm and I took the front line as Amber shot them from afar with her Larc Rouzer. All of us traded weapons with one another and to my surprise, my body felt light and somehow I could calculate their movements in a matter of seconds. Even the girl was surprised as we took down many of these bastards on our own. I really don't like killing people. I've never done that before, but I have no choice and those two needed to be saved.
Larc instinctively took out three cards from her side deck and roused it onto her Rouzer, announcing the cards that were scanned out.
BULLET
RAPID
FIRE
After a while, three holograms of Bullet Armadillo, Rapid Pecker, and Fire Fly projected to the sky before being absorbed into her armor, declaring the move at the same time.
BURNING SHOT
"Take this!" Larc shouted while pulling the trigger onto some Fighters, knocking and burning them down in the process.
Meanwhile, Lance was having a bit of trouble. True, his Lance Rouzer was faster than their Iron Axes, but due to their strength, he was having a hard time trying to penetrate through their defenses. Annoyed at this, he took out two cards from his deck and roused it on his Rouzer, leaving them confused.
SCREW
BLIZZARD
The holograms of the Screw Mole and Blizzard Polar appeared in the sky, scaring them before it was absorbed into his armor.
BLIZZARD GALE
"Hope you guys love to chill!" Lance announced as he tried again, and this time it worked as the lance managed to break through the tough durability of the Iron Axes, creating a hole and pierced through, while freezing them. "So, who's next?" He challenged before he and they started fighting again.
Meanwhile, the boss and his five remaining Fighters surrounded me with their Iron Axes in hand. "Demon, prepared to be slain!" The Boss Fighter shouted angrily. While they glared at me, I flipped my Blay Rouzer upside down and opened up the fan to reveal my own set of cards. I chose one of them and roused it on my Blay Rouzer.
METAL
The hologram of the Metal Trilobite entered my body and when one of them wanted to cleave me in half, my whole body turned into metal, causing his weapon to not only shatter in pieces, but also feel pain from the effect of metal meeting metal. My whole body reverted back to normal before stabbing him in the chest, killing him instantly. I fought the urge to vomit right then and there, but it had to be done. Seeing one of their comrades down, the four of them dashed forward towards me. With another card in hand, I roused it on my Rouzer to activate it.
MACH
The Mach Jaguar was absorbed into me, and the whole world around me went in slow motion. I got into a stance and released a barrage of cuts all over the four knuckleheads before finishing it off with a stab to their stomachs. I walked right in front of the boss Fighter and when time was up the four knuckleheads slumped to the ground, with a fountain of blood in display. As for the boss, when he noticed I was right in front of him, he suddenly jumped back in surprise to see me before calming himself down.
"Y-You're a demon after all!" he yelled at me.
"Yeah… in your eyes!" I told him before I flipped my Blay Rouzer one more time. I noticed how many AP points I had left, and it was enough for me to do the one thing I knew most: Blade's signature move. I took out two cards from the fan, and I roused them, making it announce the cards I used.
KICK
THUNDER
The holograms of Kick Locust and Thunder Deer appeared in the sky before it was absorbed into my body. I made the gesture on how Blade received the power by swinging my arms from side-to-side before slowly raising my Blay Rouzer upwards.
LIGHTNING BLAST
I stabbed the Blay Rouzer into the ground as electricity crackled from my right foot before I jumped up for the boss Fighter to see. As soon as I was up in the air, I tucked my left leg in and stuck my right foot out as I came back down, doing Blade's Rider Kick and it connected to his chest. His whole body was covered in electricity before he was sent flying back, hitting a tree, and slumping down dead. I landed safely on the ground and slowly stood up before the boot lost its spark. "Well, that's the trump card of the day…" I muttered to myself.
I then focused my attention to the girl who held Seth in her arms, frightened.
"W-Who are you?" The girl stuttered, trying to put on a brave face.
"W-Whoa, whoa, it's okay. I'm not here to hurt you." I assured. holding up my hands before I pulled the lever to reveal the card. Normally the Buckle would keep saying Turn Up no matter what, whether you flip it to reveal the Spade suit or the card, but this time it didn't. When I took the card out, the same blue rectangle appeared in front of me and I went through it, going back to civilian form. I then approached her and kneeled on one in front of her. "You can trust me and my friends."
"Yeah, we took these guys out for you…" Storm added as both he and Amber reverted back to normal too. Amber went to her side, even though she was still afraid of us.
"Is he okay?" Amber asked.
"Seth has a grave wound from an earlier skirmish while trying to get me to a safe place." The girl explained before she shifted her attention to us. "May I ask who you traveling warriors are?"
Amber and Storm looked at me with confusion. "What?" I asked.
"Should we tell her?" Storm asked me.
"What makes you say that?"
"Well, Blade is technically the main character of the series, and since we don't have Tachibana around here to guide us… you're our leader!" Storm teased. Don't get me wrong, both of us share the same interest on Kamen Riders, but he and I have our own favorite Riders that we admire most.
"If you say so…" I sighed. "At any rate, let's get back to our camp site first , and treat his injury. Then we'll exchange stories after."
Everyone nodded in agreement as Storm managed to carry Seth on his back while we led the way to our temporary hideout. It's a good thing that we were really close. Otherwise, they would've gotten themselves killed by those guys for who knows what.
After we reached our camp, Storm opened up his backpack and took off Seth's armor one piece at a time to treat his wound. Amber and I introduced ourselves to the girl and in turn, she introduced herself to us as Princess Eirika of the kingdom Renais, much to our surprise. As shocking as it was, we shared our knowledge of the current situation that we and they were in. It turns out that Storm, Amber, and I ended up in a country called Renais on the continent of Magvel and that the enemy country, Grado was attacking them. I couldn't really see her back then, but now getting a good look at her, she had long, flowing, deep sky blue hair and eyes wearing gold armor with a cape over her red dress and white skirt. She also wore long red boots and a pair of red leather gloves, a golden loop around her waist, a bracelet on her wrist, golden earrings, and a rapier in its sheath around her waist as her main weapon. I have to say, she's cute.
Wait, a minute, what am I saying?! Gah! Get it together, Kuro! This is no time to go ga-ga over the princess! I just met her for crying out loud!
"So your father wanted you to head to Frelia for your safety. And your twin brother Ephraim is missing?" Amber asked.
"That is correct…" Eirika admitted. "And… you three are from another world?" Eirika asked back.
"Yeah. I know it sounds really far-fetched and ridiculous, but it's true…" I chuckled sheepishly rubbing the back of my head. Amber looked at me and for some reason… she was smiling at me. And no, it's not one of her usual smiles; I can tell it's mischievous…
We were interrupted when Storm walked over to us with the bag he kept carrying around. "Princess, your knight's going to be okay with these Vulneraries I have, which I have no idea how I got… or even used in the first place…" He said as he joined us at the campfire while Seth rested comfortably near the fire.
"Thank you… I greatly appreciate it." Eirika said to Storm before turning back to Amber and I. "I know that this might be a burden to ask, but is it okay for you strangers to lend us a hand? At least, until we've reached Frelia. I have a feeling Grado's men will continue to search for us and I must search for my brother too."
"Uh…" I trailed before looking to Storm and Amber who looked at me confused. "Give us a moment." I said before I motioned Amber and Storm to come over to another part of the camp, so Eirika won't hear our private conversation. "I say we help her out." I whispered.
"Are you kidding?! We're in the middle of a freakin' war zone!" Storm hissed softly.
"I know that, Storm! We all want to go back to our world, but… we can't just leave her and Seth on their own!" I hissed back.
"Ah! Kurogasa… could it be…?" Amber spoke, gaining my attention.
"What?"
She came close to my ear and whispered something that not even her boyfriend could hear. "…you like her, don't you?" She slightly giggled.
"E-Eh?!" I gawked at her, while blushing. "B-Baka! D-Don't be ridiculous! I-I'm just trying to help out." I stuttered.
"What? What, what, what? What's going on?" Storm asked, which Amber could only reply by placing her finger on her lips.
"It's a secret, Storm." Amber giggled before heading back towards Eirika with our response.
"Hey, buddy! What did she say to you? And why's your face red?"
"I don't want to talk about it," I grumbled.
"Eh?" Storm blinked confused before we went back to the girls and Eirika looked happy.
"I thank you for this. With this, we can reach Frelia in no time." Eirika smiled.
"It's nothing much. That's what friends are for, Princess Eirika!" Amber replied.
"Please, just Eirika will do." The Princess said.
"I think we're gonna get along just fine." Amber said, while looking at me with her mischievous smile.
I glared at her before turning my attention to Eirika. "Well, in any case, we better get some sleep. Amber, you're on watch duty."
"Eh?! Why me?!" Amber demanded.
"Yeah Kurogasa, why Amber? Usually, you and I would always be fighting on who's going to do things, but why Amber?" Storm asked.
Because she teased me about liking Eirika… is what I would've said. What came out of my mouth was, "Well, you did say that I'm the leader, right?" I smiled smugly.
"Mou~! Fine! But you'll be next after I guard for a couple of hours!" Amber whined childishly before she stood up and walked to a corner to keep guard.
"Then… would it be alright if I do the same?" Eirika asked me.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"I do not mind, since Seth is still unconscious…" Eirika offered.
"To be honest, we don't want you to. You and Seth were attacked by those bandits and things might get hairy if we put you on guard and… draw some unwanted attention." Storm said; which made sense.
"So, does that mean I must rest?" Eirika asked.
"Well, Storm does have a point. So let's not take any chances. Don't worry, we'll protect you. You've seen us beat them, right?" I asked.
"Yes… I have seen it…" Eirika slowly nodded. "Very well; I think some sleep will suffice…"
When she went back to the camp and rested her head to get some sleep, Storm and I were having a chat. "Storm, for as long as I've known you, the only time you're intelligent is when it comes to Kamen Riders and spend most of your time as an airhead, but… how come you've gotten this good?" I asked. Storm could only rub the back of his head.
"To be honest… I don't know, buddy. And did you notice the way we fought earlier? We were like a different person when wearing that armor. Both of us don't have any proper martial arts training, but we feel like we know how to fight, based on our instincts… don't you feel weird about that?" Storm asked.
"Yeah, I felt weird alright. But whatever the case, until we find a way home, let's just stick with Eirika." I said. Storm nodded in agreement before he walked towards Amber. She's probably bored and… went back to my side?
"Well, I guess I'm lucky this time… Storm said that he'll take over for me since I need to rest." Amber smiled, getting ready to sleep. "Oh just so you know Kuro, She might be sleeping now, but I know for sure that you like her."
"I just met her." I deadpanned.
"Yeah, I know. But knowing you, you get flustered every time you see a pretty girl like her."
"And you know this how?" I deadpanned further.
"Call it a woman's intuition." She winked before getting some rest.
I could only glare at her a bit before getting some rest myself. I'll deal with it in the morning. One thing's for sure: This is gonna be one heck of an adventure.
