House and Cuddy had been together now for six months. The sex was awesome, House's view of life became happier and the best of all he was like a dad to Cuddy's adopted daughter. Cuddy loved to watch them interact together. He would play the piano for her and make her giggle for hours. He was also the one who loved to tuck her in at night. She would never forget his smile when she called him dad for the first time. They were a family.

House had a patient he had been working on for quite sometime now. Her name was Leslie and she was only six years old. House had an attachment to her. He would go into the hospital room and play games with her and tell her stories when her parents would leave the room for a short while. The thing that bothered him was that more and more things kept happening to her and he could not diagnose her. Her hair was falling out today or she would be running a fever tomorrow. Her symptoms led to so many things.

When he showed up to work that morning he was in a good mood. He walked Cuddy to her office and gave her a kiss. Then went up to see is favorite patient Leslie.

"Hey Leslie" House was smiling as he sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Hey Dr. House" her voice was at a whisper. She was weak, her eyes looked glassy today and her eye lids were red.

"So what are you up to today?"

Instead of a response he was greeted by the heart machine going crazy. He reached over as fast as he could to push the code blue button. Nurses came in with the shock machines as he charged them to 300. Soon going up to 400 then 500. The nurses sort of quit working as they knew the patient was dead. He then started doing CPR on her trying to revive her not wanting to face the truth. When Cuddy heard about Leslie she flew out of her office knowing House would be in agony. When she walked up behind him putting a hand on his shoulder.

"She's gone House"

She watched as he sunk to the ground with tears streaming down his face. When he got home that night to tuck his little girl in he was thinking of Leslie as he kissed her forehead. Thanking God for letting his family be okay and knowing Leslie would always be six years old.
