Lily Salvatore breathed in as she obeyed the nurse to push for the last time intent on finally bringing this child into the world. Her husband or as Lily saw it tormenter was a cruel man whom she despised and wished with all her heart to be free of getting married to him was never her choice it was an arranged marriage

By the time the child was finally delivered she was too exhausted to care hearing her baby cry for the first time.

The last thing she heard before falling into the sleep that called her from the waking world was the nurse excitedly telling her. "It's a girl! Mrs. Salvatore you gave birth to a beautiful baby girl."

Fear spiked her heart at this revelation she had always wanted a daughter but not now not as a firstborn she knew how much guissppe wanted a boy as the head of the family how obsessed with tradition he was. She didn't want to bring a child into this mess of a marriage. She trembled as she thought about what he would do when he found out knowing he'd be so disappointed and angry at her blaming her for something in which she could not control.

Present day Mystic Falls.

Damon Salvatore waited impatiently in the fog along the backroad entrance to the town. She was focused on one thing only at the moment feeding her bloodlust.

A couple were driving home through the murky backroad unaware it was the last road they'd ever take.

Damon heard the car way before it could pass her positioning herself so that she could enact her plan preciously. She listened in to their conversation while timing her next move.

The woman was getting spooked out by the left over dense fog from the previous storm causing the two to break out into an argument. Knowing this distraction was her chance she seized the moment running out in front of their car promptly sending her flying. The man slammed on the breaks while his girlfriend began to freak out the woman began to dial 911 as the man walked out to see if she was okay.

She heard his footsteps running toward her body on the road where she layed pretending to be dead.

"Mam are you okay." The man asked as he began to lean over her body putting himself in the exact vulnerable position she wanted. Her eyes shot open the man didn't even get a chance to jump back as she gripped him with her strong arms pulling him closer her chest leaning in she brought out her fangs purring in his ear before taking her first bite. "Now I will be."

She roughly bit into him inhaling every last drop of blood she had access to the view from an onlooker would appear animalistic in the manner she was feeding her hair the only thing visible as she ravenously fed from his neck until she shoved him to the ground dead.

she walked over to the car the woman having now gotten out and running into the woods it didn't matter though this just made it more fun for her she loved the chase.

...

The next night Damon was alerted by the caw of the crow she compelled sitting on the balcony of the hotel.

Unlike her brother she had eventually embraced vampirism thanks to the teaching and advice of her old friend Sage. One of the things she excelled at was how advanced she'd become at mind control then again she had experimented a lot to learn just how much she would be able to push it. The results had been fascinating control over animals minds and peoples ability to go into their dreams and manipulate it drive peoples minds into insanity just by pushing her compulsion power far enough. Of coarse it wasn't like any of her experiments didn't have it coming...

She walked out to the crow frowning at the images she saw through it's eyes of the Katherine carbon copy and her brother meeting.

She snorted of coarse they'd get along they were too alike.

It was time she came face to face with her wretch of a sibling. Waving her hand the crow flew off in the direction she was heading.

...

Damon's POV

I waited patiently on the balcony as her crow flew into her little brothers room landing on his bed her brother's gaze going from the crow to the open balcony doors her figure left a shadow over coming into the light of his room I smirked maliciously walking over to him my his eyes following me like I was a cat and he a mouse with no were to run.

"Hello brother." I said circling his room.

"What are you doing here?" "It's been fifteen years Damon." He said looking at me with the same intense judgement I'd had to deal with for over a century now when it came to me.

This made me angry. What gave him the right to judge me? After everything he's done?

I scoffed rolling my eyes. "I know, the twentieth century was really starting to take a toll on me."

He just narrowed his eyes at me before it was replaced with an almost smug look. "You let that girl alive tonight that was quite clumsy of you Damon."

I inwardly sighed really? This is all he's got? Man does he really need a lesson on how to get under peoples skin. Well if he wanted to play this game he'd have to learn to play properly I'd be more then willing to give him a lesson. It was my duty as his older sister now wasn't it?

I began walking towards him only stopping when my arms were in reaching distance. I tiled my head at him humming. "Yes that does seem like a problem, for you."

Opening his mouth to speak I interrupted him. "No need to ask what your doing here I think I found out the answer to that in one name Elena Gilbert."

I forced myself not to clap in victory when he instantly tensed up fear evident now on his face.

"Is this part of your twelve step program?" "Is it really working being in her world does it make you feel alive?" I asked him. "Creepy how similar she is to Katherine by the way they could be identical twins."

"She's not Katherine." Stefan breathed out staring hardly at me. "Damon."

"Yeah good thing she's not we both know how much of a mess that turned out to be." I told him.

"Let's cut to the chase you and I both know the only way you'll ever get close to humanity is when we rip it open and feed on it." I said tone as if I was explaining geometry to a small child.

"So come on for old times sake." I deliberately hit his shoulder to anyone else it would seem playfully innocent but to Stefan the force behind it was threatening. "lets have a drink." I smirked devilishly.

"No." Stefan told me moving back wearily I was quick to move forward closing the distance again between us.

"Come on brother I saw a saw a couple back there." I said hitting him the force shoving him a bit.

"No." Stefan told me fear still in his eyes as though I had a person bleeding in front of him and was threatening to drain them if he didn't feed. "Stop it. " He told me firmly.

"Don't you just crave it Stefan." I said pushing him again he tried to shove my hands away but I continued to hit his shoulders each one just a little harder then the first. "Or better yet." I said appearing as If I was thinking about something before looking back into his eyes." Let's just go straight for Elena before she becomes a problem."

"Stop it." He cried weakly."

"Just imagine what her blood tastes like Stefan." I told him harshly before singsonging my eyes fierce. "I know I can."

That was all it took for him to charge at me vampire face in full gear giving out a warrior cry as he flashed toward me I easily dove to the side letting him crash into the window and fall down the balcony. Ugh so dramatic.

I clapped sarcastically, getting his attention. "That was... Something I give it a 3- for style but the theatrics were the best part I mean you really went all out with the-"." I started making exaggerated cat noises.

He began looking for his ring. I smirked looking at the hand that hand managed to snatch it from him when he had tried to shove my hands away.

"Looking for this." I cooed at him holding it out arm outstretched. "Come on take it wouldn't want you burning now would we."

Hesitantly he reached for it finally taking it form me and putting it on his hand regretting the next moment for have taking his eyes off me as I grabbed him by his throat slowly squeezing as I lifted him up off the ground baring my fangs I hissed ferrelly blood starting to coat my nails that were dug into his neck grinning I threw him into the side of the house.

"You were stupid thinking you stood even a remote chance in a fight with me." I growled. "Don't ever try it again."

I heard a clutter in the house smiling as I remembered who it was. "Oh we woke up Zach do tell him how much I apologize."

With that I left him in a contemplative brooding heap.

...

Flashback when Damon was ten.

Frost was all she felt now all she would ever let herself feel as she sat there in the corner of the root cellar motionless beaten and utterly alone in everything.

All Damon wanted was for someone to care for someone not to think of her as a disappointment.

And when she had finally found that someone in her little brother Stefan it was dampened by the fact her parents seemed to prefer him more her mother cherished Stefan and seemed to despise her very existence. Her father never let her how much of a disappointment she was to their family. She could never live up to his impossible standards every little thing she did he critizized.

This wasn't the first time she'd been down here in the bloody and beaten state she was in but it was the first time she had felt so alone so vulnerable. Maybe because it was the longest she was ever locked in here and fear was starting to take over but Damon doubted it.

No she wasn't going to be a disappointment she wasn't going to be weak. So pushed the pain away the vulnerability that she was sure her father would think of as weak.

That's when the anger set in. Stefan was the reason she was in here in the first place, He had begged her with his puppy dog eyes to teach him how to climb a tree an action he had saw her do sadly so had her mother who promptly admonished her for it her father who wasn't paying attention to busy reading took notice and promptly cut a switch from a bush and smacked her hands with it until she wouldn't be able to touch anything without hissing in intense pain. Her mother had taken Stefan inside before Giuseppe could do anything shielding him from what was about to happen. Funny she thought bitterly her mother never bothered to shield her from danger.

A couple days later her brother had cornered her begging excitedly for her to teach him how to climb a tree not being able to resist his puppy eyes she agreed, discreetly taking them out and picking a small tree to show her brother how to climb one properly. After many attempts Stefan finally managed to climb to the branch next to the one his sister was on both of them laughing in mirth.

The happy sibling moment was interrupted by their father who came marching toward him Damon assumed one of the servants must have informed him what was happening.

After being ordered to get down Stefan was given the equivalent of a slap on the which consisted of Gissupe harshly admonishing him for his improperness as climbing trees was not befitting of a Salvatore he told Stefan to go inside. Stefan disheartened for upsetting their father left now it was only her and their father. He had beaten her yelling the entire time about making his son weak. He then dragged her into the root cellar locking the door after throwing her in.

She had stopped crying long ago looking up at the ceiling shivering at the cold. She felt so vulnerable so weak so angry and she didn't know why she was to afraid to try and make sense of her feelings so she pushed them away.

Now all she felt like was an empty and lost.

Present Day Mystic falls.

Damon walked into her bedroom of the boarding house laying in the bed she had missed for so long. Smirking as she thought of ways to torture her brother.

It's time this small sleepy town was shaken awake and she knew just how to do it.
