Back to Tennessee
Chapter 1: Sam says goodbye
Disclaimer: I only own Glee on DVD and CD.
Sam was in the choir room with the other members of the New Directions, listening to Will Schuester go on and on about Sectionals.
''Mr Schue?'' asked Sam as he raised his hand.
''Do you wanna say something, Sam?'' asked Will as he looked over his shoulder to look at Sam.
''Yeah, I have an announcement'' said Sam as everyone looked at him.
''What is it?'' asked Will as Sam stood up and walked to the front while he went to sit down next to Finn.
''Is it good?'' asked Rachel as she loooked at Sam.
''I'm moving... Again'' said Sam as everyone looked at him in shock at the news he'd just given them.
''Wh-where to?'' asked Mercedes as she looked at her boyfriend with a shocked look on her face.
''Nashville, I'm going home'' said Sam as Finn stood up and grabbed hold of his wrist.
''Sam, we need you'' said Finn as he grabbed hold of his best friend's wrist but Sam pulled it out.
"It's too late, I'm only a student here for another two hours" said Sam as Finn gave him the puppy dog eyes before sitting back down.
"When do you have to leave?" asked Quinn as she looked at Sam.
"My flight is this afternoon, I'm meeting my dad and siblings there, Scott's bringing me back" said Sam as Finn looked at him, confusion in his eyes.
"Who's Scott?" asked Finn, confusion in his eyes.
"Sam's best friend from Nashville, they've known each other since practically before they were born" said Quinn as Sam smiled at her.
"What about school?" asked Artie as Sam smiled weakly at him.
"I'm going back to boarding school, I want to say goodbye to you lot in the only way I know" said Sam as he looked over his shoulder and shouts out to Scott, who was in the corridoors. "Scott!"
"Ready Sam?" asked Scott as he walked in with the band members of Mckinley.
"Yep" said Sam as the band started to play the tune to 'Back to Tennessee' by Billy Ray Cyrus.
Fancy cars and diamond rings,
I seen all kinds of shiny things,
I should be feelin' like a king,
But lord I don't.
Great big towns, so full of users.
Make a million, still a loser.
Some may bet on you to win,
Most hope you won't.
Livin' wild, ain't no mercy being free,
When it brings you to your knees.
Can't keep lying.
I've seen the road now,
I know just what I need,
To find my way back to Tennessee.
I'm going home now,
To Southern, is so sweet,
And find my way back to Tennessee
I was only seventeen,
I lived behind my beauty queen,
I turned my back on everything,
And everyone.
Rooms with lots of pretty faces,
Still don't fill the empty spaces,
Wanderin' where Amazing Grace is,
There is none, no.
Now I know, there's no comfort in this world.
God I miss that hometown girl,
Want to hold her.
I'm on the road now,
I know just what I need,
To find my way back to Tennessee.
I'm coming home now,
To Southern, is so sweet,
And find my way back to Tennessee
All this time I was chasing after dreams,
It was right in front of me,
I was lost without her.
I'm on the road now,
I know just what I need,
To find my way back to Tennessee.
I'm coming home now,
To Southern, is so sweet,
And find my way back to you and me,
Find my way back to Tennessee.
After Sam stopped singing, he said one last goodbye to the New Directions before picking up his backpack and walked out of the choir room with Scott.
