A/N: This is just a prologue to the story. Hopefully this will become a story which either starts 6th or 7th year and moves on through that. Of course Lily will be firey and James will be, well a marauder but hopefully I will be inspired to add some zesty lemons to the story as well! R&R if you want more.

Prologue:

This is the story of Lily and James. We all know how it ends, in the creation of a beautiful child who will rescue the Wizarding world from the greatest evil of his time. Their story ends in the tragic death of two so wholly good they gave their lives for their son and the world. This is the story of how it began.

At Platform 9& ¾ First year:

Lily POV:
My mother was in a tizzy just as everyone else's, well perhaps she was fretting a bit more. We had just made it through the wall and on to the platform which happened to only allow one muggle family member through. " Lily, dear do you have all your things?" She asked in a voice that I'm sure she thought was calm.

" Yes Mum I-" I started, yet she plowed on in her maternal craze.

" Oh dear! You don't have a ticket do you? How are we going to get you to the school? I don't even know your address how can we get you there if we don't have a ticket for the train? Oh my it's getting closer to eleven, Oh my Lily I will miss you dearly"

My mother wailed all in one breath, she looked as though she was going to continue when a kindly looking witch walked over.

"Excuse me Ma'am, is this your daughter's first year? I apologize but, I couldn't help overhearing your dilemma, your daughter won't need a ticket to board the train. This is the Hogwarts Express, one stop and the train wouldn't let her on if she weren't bound for Hogwarts."
She finished this all in one breath and with a smile, somehow easing my mother's and my worries.
"Lindsey Potter by the way, nice to meet you!" she added brightly.

I do not believe my mother could've been any happier at that moment, she had found her magical crazed counter part! However, where my mother's tizzy sent waves of anxiety out Lindsey Potter's fretting instilled serenity and calmness. This made me wonder if being magical made life a bit easier. The time was soon forgotten and the two women were gabbing away as the clock ticked slowly closer to eleven. I was about to politely inturupt my mother and her new aquaintence when I was saved from embarking on that daunting task by a boy about my age with hair as black as black beauty and about as tame. He was being chased by three other boys all with a similar look of mischief on their faces. They young boy ran into his mother almost full force and as he did so she teetered only to be caught by her husband, later introduced as Ambrose Potter. Being a girl of eleven I immediately swooned at the scene in front of me and it must have been obvious because I suddenly had hands waving in front of my face attempting to get my attention. " Hellloooooo? Heeeelllooo? … Hi! I'm James!" he said. I was completely embarrassed to be caught unaware and mumbled something about my name being Lily.

At that exact moment the first warning whistle sounded and the tizzy became a full fledged tornado of hugs kisses and warnings (the latter mostly from Mrs. & Mr. Potter) as we boarded the scarlet engine and headed for Hogwarts.
