A/N: Just a fun little thing I wrote a while back and never got round to posting!

Rose turned the page of her magazine, which she had been reading for the past twenty minutes, slumped casually on the captain's chair in the console room. The Doctor had been tinkering with the TARDIS, and Rose had only just realised she had not heard the soft buzzing of the sonic screwdriver in the past ten minutes. Curiously, she looked above the pages of her magazine, only to find that the Doctor was leaning against the console, staring at her wrist.

"Want to take a picture? It'll last longer" she mocked, breaking his apparent chain of thought.

"W-what?" the Doctor stuttered as he tore his eyes away from her wrist, and up to her face. "Sorry, what did you say?" he questioned.

"What are you staring at?" Rose said slowly putting down her magazine and looking him in the eye.

"Oh sorry, I was just looking at your tattoo" the Doctor replied casually.

Rose glanced at the star tattoo on the inside of her right wrist; she barely noticed it was there anymore. "What about it?" she asked, wondering if the Doctor was not a fan of it.

"I was just wondering about it" he said coming and sitting next to her on the captain's chair "I mean, when did you get it? Why did you get it? Did it hurt?"

Rose was taken aback by the sudden bombardment of questions and had to think for a moment before answering. "Erm well, I got it when I was seventeen, mainly because I wanted to piss off Mum. She shouted at me for being stupid because I got my belly button pierced without asking, so I went a step further. I guess I was trying to be a rebel" the Doctor laughed.

"But did it hurt?" he had an air of concern on his voice which made Rose's heart flutter.

"Of course it hurt, Doctor. I mean, how would you feel if I stabbed your wrist with needles for an hour and a half?" she mocked.

"No, but I mean was it OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO FAINT kind of pain, or like getting your eyebrows plucked?"

Rose raised her eyebrows, an amused look on her face. "When have you ever had your eyebrows plucked?" she laughed.

The Doctor sighed "Long story, one which must wait for another day"

"No I'd quite like to hear it now"

"Another day, Rose! Now tell me, was it really painful?" the Doctor continued, now stroking the tattoo on her wrist.

"Well, it wasn't too bad. I mean I went back a week later and got another one" Rose confessed casually.

"Oh yes and where's that one Miss Tyler?" the Doctor smiled, wiggling his eyebrows.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out" she said.

The Doctor stood up, pulling Rose up with him, still stroking the little star on her wrist.

"What?" she asked.

"For you to know and for me to find out. So I'm going to find out" And with that the Doctor pulled Rose down the corridor towards the privacy of his room. And he certainly found the tattoo...more than once.
