Disclaimer: I don't own anything
Author's Note: I know Fire Prevention Week is in October but I just thought of this story. I went on to the National Fire Protection Association website to make sure I had the date, why Fire Prevention Week was started, and the legend correct for this story. I have heard the legend of the Mrs. O'Leary and her cow starting the Great Chicago Fire. I also know why Fire Prevention Week was started. I have helped out at a couple Fire Prevention Programs at the local fire station.
Sheldon, Amy, Penny, Leonard, Bernadette, Howard and Raj were eating dinner one night when Bernadette started to ask Sheldon questions about Fire Prevention.
"Sheldon, do you know why Fire Prevention Week was started," asks Bernadette.
"No," said Sheldon.
"Wait a minute. Sheldon doesn't know something," said Penny.
"Yes, Penny, I don't know why Fire Prevention Week was started," said Sheldon.
"Ok, then," said Penny.
"Bernadette will you please tell me about Fire Prevention Week was started," said Sheldon.
"Ok," said Bernadette.
"Can we go into my room, please," asks Sheldon.
"Ok," said Bernadette.
So Sheldon and Bernadette went into Sheldon's bedroom because Howard, Leonard, Raj, Amy, and Penny were talking loud.
"It is Penny, Amy, Leonard, Howard, and Raj loss if they don't want to learn about how Fire Prevention Week got started," said Sheldon.
"Yes, it is. Are you learn to about how Fire Prevention Week got started?" said Bernadette.
"Yes, I am," said Sheldon.
"Ok, then," said Bernadette.
Sheldon let Bernadette sit on his bed.
"Fire Prevention Week was started in 1920 to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of 1871," said Bernadette.
"So it took some years to get the Fire Prevention Week," said Sheldon.
"Yup," said Bernadette.
"So when is Fire Prevention Week?" asks Sheldon.
"Fire Prevention Week is the week of October 9," said Bernadette.
"Is there anything that I should know about Fire Prevention Week?" asks Sheldon.
"Yes, there is one more thing but it is not about Fire Prevention Week. It is about the Great Chicago Fire of 1871," said Bernadette.
"What is it?" asks Sheldon.
"It is a legend about Mrs. O'Leary and her cow. The legend is about Mrs. O'Leary who was in her barn the night October 8 and her cow kick over the lantern," said Bernadette.
"That is one odd legend," said Sheldon.
"Yup, we should go back out to the living room," said Bernadette.
With that Sheldon and Bernadette went back out to the living room and told the others what they know about Fire Prevention Week.
"Bernadette, I have one more question," said Sheldon.
"What is your question," asks Bernadette.
"How do you know so much about Fire Prevention Week?" asks Sheldon.
"When I was in the hospital for dropping the dishes of raccoon viruses, one of the nurses gave me some information on Fire Prevention Week to make feel better about what I did. Also the nurse told me that accidents do happened," said Bernadette.
"Ok," said Sheldon.
