So, I wrote this quite a while ago, and put it on my tumblr, but I decided I may as well submit it here, too. I know I haven't put anything up in a while, but I've really been focusing on my original stories. I have tons of ideas, though, so maybe I'll see about writing some of them out and putting them here.

He's going to show up. He has to. He always shows up. Any minute now, he's going to come crashing through that door, and we'll-or, maybe just he will, because Jesus it hurts-kick this bastard's ass. Just gotta stay strong. Stay awake. Stay conscious and stay alert and he'll be here any second. After we kick this clown's ass, I'll apologize for disobeying his orders. I'm not much one for following rules, but I kinda messed up this time, didn't I?

God it hurts. Can't see out of my right eye anymore…swollen shut. Joker's broken at least a couple ribs. My mask's gone, but now's no time for secret identities or any of that crap.

I hear the surprise in my mother's voice. She thought I was dead. I'm half there, but I gotta get her out of here. I can't…won't be able to stop the bomb.

Why… why isn't he here yet?

Just have to untie the rope. Plenty of…plenty of time. God…all the blood. Head's getting cloudy…she's untied, why isn't she running? Has to…she has to get out of here!

Can't stand anymore. It's too much…he'll get here. He always does.
