"Glad I didn't have to work or anything today." Amy mumbled to herself sarcastically, chucking her car keys across the room onto the counter as she walked into her apartment. Several repairs needed to be done, bills needed to be paid, and she could have really used the money. On top of that, her car was seen as shot in her eyes, the cherry on top.
SIghing, Amy plopped herself down on her couch and looked to her busted window in the corner. The draft wasn't too bad, what bothered her more was the busted light above her head, plunging her whole living room in darkness.
Drinking excessively while your boyfriend was away was never a good thing.
Speaking of boyfriends, Amy thought with a sigh. Her own boyfriend had finally come back after months of being gone. Although it was only his second day back, she was still hurt he had yet to talk to her.
If her T.v worked, she would have turned it on a long time ago to distract herself from her lingering thoughts about him.
She did have her phone, and, checking it momentarily, a peculiar message from Sheldon appeared, telling her she should really lock her door.
She knew he was out there. Opening the door confirmed her suspicions, but she was not expecting him to be accompanied by a bundle of flowers in his hands, and a tux hugging his lovely figure.
Amy almost fainted on the spot.
WIth his one hand, Sheldon easily pulled her to him and placed a sweet kiss on her lips that left them tingly. She watched in a haze as he brushed past her and strolled into the apartment. He nearly dropped the flowers when his eyes met her window, as if he could even see it in the lighting.
"I know... it's bad..." Amy groaned, but when Sheldon turned to her she instantly found herself breathless. He looked more than just dashing in his tux, more so than she had remembered even.
"Penny told me your car broke down," he said quietly, looking around the room and handing her the flowers. She watched in a haze as he walked without another word into her guest room and disappeared.
Moments later, emerging with a step ladder in his grasp, Sheldon placed it in the middle of the room and stepped up to examine her lifeless light bulb. When he reached up, his shirt exposed part of his stomach and Amy gulped with wandering eyes.
The busted window was not helping how hot Amy felt.
Screwing the bulb in tightly and stepping off the ladder, Sheldon walked to Amy and caressed her face in his hand. "You should really be more careful." with the room lit properly, Amy got more of a look at the scruple on his face, it really was handsome.
He had been gone far too long.
"What do you think about an impromptu date night? And later I can help you fix your apartment." he suggested softly, his lips close to hers. She nodded breathlessly and smoothed down her skirt, taking his offered hand and walking beside him out the apartment.
Whatever had happened to Sheldon now that he was back, Amy knew for a fact that this new aspect of their relationship was here to stay. The thought had her grinning more that night than she had in a very long time.
He was just that good.
