Skye laid in the med pod, looking weaker than ever. Her face was paler than anybody had ever seen her and she had tons of IVs in her arms. She was connected to a heart monitor. The steady beating told Grant that his girlfriend was still here. She was still hanging on, barely. She was fighting for her life after being shot in the side. It had taken Simmons about an hour to stop the bleeding. It was a wonder Skye was even alive still. Grant hated seeing her like this. He wished he could take her place. He reached out and squeezed her hand. "I'm so sorry Skye. I'm sorry that I wasn't there to save you," he whispered and a single tear ran down his cheek. It might've been his imagination, or hallucinations from the extreme lack of sleep, but he thought he saw her eyes flutter and her nose crinkle slightly. He immediately banished the thought from his mind. She was in a coma and hadn't shown any signs of improvement in her condition. It had been about 24 hours since she was shot. He knew Skye most likely wouldn't wake up. The chances that she would were very slim. Grant still refused to give up on her. He knew she would fight, she always had before. Skye's eyelids fluttered and she opened her eyes slowly. "Hey," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

"Skye, you're awake!" He looked over excitedly. He had missed her immensely.

"Yeah, you think I would leave you?"

Ward woke up from his dream. He ran down to the med pod. This time, it seemed so real. It wasn't real, though. Skye had died two years ago. Nobody had been able to move on after losing the analyst. Skye still held a special place in the team's hearts, even May's. He sank to his knees and cried. He couldn't believe it had been two years since he lost the love of his life. He regretted not going on that mission with her every day of his life. He was overwhelmed with feelings of longing for Skye. He cried harder and that was how Coulson found him, hours later. On the floor of the med pod, lay Grant Ward, vulnerable, weak, and crying. Coulson took the specialist in his arms and tried to comfort him. "We all miss her. Not a day goes by when we don't think of her."
