How Quickly Things Change

Finally, we had defeated the Titans! It was a hard fought war so we were all hugging and crying. Slowly out view changed and we were in the throne room of Mount Olympus. The Olympians looked on at us in amusement and relief.
"Demigods," Zeus thundered " on behalf of Olympus and all of the gods, we thank you for representing us and fighting for us! For your service we will grant you many powers and riches"
One by one my friends were rewarded with gold and houses and stronger abilities. Finally Zeus called my name. I approached the center of the gods.
"Perseus Jackson, you have twice now saved Olympus and we are forget indebted to you. We have once offered you godship and you denied. We have a similar but slightly different offer. Would you accept god of the sea, horses and earthquakes."
I looked at Zeus for a minute and then at my father who was looking at me with loving, sad eyes. "What's going on?" I asked.
My father answered gently," Percy I am very old, and these past wars have been very tough on me. I'm tired of this, and I'm ready to do what no god has done, retire. Don't worry I will build myself a mansion in New Rome and will live there happily forever. There is no better option for this very job than you. Please take this job."
I hugged my father as tears leaked out his eyes. " I will humbly and gladly accept this position. "
Zeus looked at me," You do realize you would become a fully fledged Olympian, and a member of The Big Three."
" Yes I am ready" I answered.
All of the gods rose and saluted Poseidon. Then they all pointed at him, and bright laser beams of power hit him. Then they transferred the power to me. Suddenly I experienced excruciating pain, and then everything went dark….
