Author's Note: Written for a Drabble Challenge over on InsaneJournal. It had to be exactly 100 words, and the prompt was "Creepy Toys".
The Doctor doesn't like toys. Toys, he thinks, are the fastest way to kill a child's imagination.
Oh, he likes play, alright. He likes play a lot. More than he likes anything, really, because play is where magic happens. Where children learn to be grown-ups (not the boring kind, but the kind that children want to be).
What makes him sad is that they're right. Usually. Mostly. Children play like they do because they see what adults train themselves not to. They see the universe, the stars, the love⦠Possibility, not probability.
