hello!

this suddenly hit my mind after seeing cloud smile myself!

short and sweet!

enjoy!

Tifa didn't see it coming so of course it surprised her, her friend, the quite stoic Cloud Strife, had smiled at her. Not just any smile, a real smile, teeth showing and all.

He smiled.

She knew she must have seemed silly for thinking to much of this, but this was Cloud. He never smiled! She tried to decipher it's meaning as it was such an uncommon occurrence. Perhaps he had recalled a happy memory or saw something funny enough to earn a chuckle. But even though it was something so unnatural, it looked so natural on him.

Yes, Cloud indeed had a truly radiant smile. She had seen many smiles, but none could compare. For the way his eyes would brighten from their already dazzling oceanic blue to an azure sky hue, the way his cheeks would get cheekier, and the way his perfect teeth would show was honestly a sight for all of gaia to behold.

His face was created to do so. He was so destined to smile that it was almost sad. Because he didn't do it often enough. And Because he didn't know he had a face for one. What was even sadder was that she could never see that smile enough, she would never tire of seeing it. And Cloud would never know how amazing he looked when he did.

Tifa felt tugs at her heart, as she looked at him it was as if Cloud had not undergone the life of turmoil that he did. And that's all she's ever wanted, to take away his pain. To make him forget. She'd always hoped they could forget the past together. But she knew that only hoping would never be enough, that she had to take steps, that's why she needed him to stay at seventh heaven. So they could learn to make everything better. Just praying that one day he might show signs of happiness.

And now he's smiling.

she felt tears gather in her eyes. She looked to see what had earned Cloud strife's smile. But everything looked to be in order.

"...Cloud...you're smiling..."

He put on a confused face and nodded his head.

"Why?"

Cloud then walked up to her and embraced her. Her eyes widened before she wrapped her arms around him. She felt him pull something from her back, he pulled away and held it up in her face. A note, a note that read:

"Dear Cloud, Tifa told us she loved you last week! - Marlene and Denzel." The note had a bunch of misshapen hearts and stick figures holding hands.

She blushed and looked at her feet.

"I'll get them later." She thought.

He then turned around so that she faced his back. She saw a note stuck to his back as well, unlike her, he must have known about it and let the kids believe otherwise. She pulled the note off him and read:

"Tifa! Cloud told us that he loved you yesterday! - Marlene and Denzel." Tifa couldn't hold in her chuckle at how the kids tried to get her and Cloud together.

She wanted to know if it was true.

"Cloud...?"

He turned to face her.

And he was smiling.
