I was surrounded by nothing but white, I didn't know what to expect from death, but a void wasn't it. Team Meteor had won I don't truly know how they harnessed the legends, but they did. They had even combined the powers of Yvetal and Giratina using a Deoxys and a DNA splicer to create a super weapon, too bad they couldn't control the thing and it blew up the world. One second, I am staring up at this monstrosity and next I was in this empty space with nothing but time to look back on what I could have done better and all that could have been. I don't know how long I floated there, never growing hungry or thirsty, never seeing a change, I wondered how long it will take before I go mad. Then I had something beneath my feet again as numerous many colored crystalline pillars rose around me, looking down even the floor is made of this multi-faceted crystal. Looking ahead I count 18 pillars, 9 to a side that leads up to a set of stairs on which a rainbow colored sphere hovered. Knowing the layout seemed familiar I guessed who was there "Arceus stop with the theatrics and tell me what is going on."
"Hello Jace" Arceus spoke in my mind in its surprisingly soft voice "it seems we failed. Craeus my opposite apparently cheated though, giving his champion abilities beyond our realm. After appealing to the Unknown, I can do the same and I have to perfect ones but unlike my brother, I believe in free will, so I ask you DO YOU WANT TO PLAY A GAME." I face fault at the ridiculous question. "Sorry I couldn't resist, in simplest terms, your life will become like a role-playing game after I turn back the clocks to when you were just starting. Your life will be like a dream to you something you can recall but not well and with no details."
"I can't keep my memories? And what about all my friends?" My partners, my rivals, my travel companions. All the meals we shared, battles fought, and roads walked. I didn't want to lose all of it.
"Your memories and Craeus's champions memories were both debated on and the only agreement we found was you both were to forget. And I am afraid you will have to start from scratch with everyone."
"OK, what happens if I choose not to?" I had just fought a war, I wasn't sure my soul could take the pain of doing it over.
"I move on to one of less strength of heart. I would never take free will away from my children not even with an impossible choice."
"Alright, Arceus after all you have led me through I feel I can trust you, let's play this game" with that the world flashed with light and then everything was dark. Coming to in a dark void I wondered what was going on, then POKEMON IRON rushed towards me out of the darkness. Guess I am in a video game, I somehow knew to reach out and tap the floating white words to continue. Next to appear was NEW GAME/ LOAD GAME. I tried clicking load game, but it just greyed out and did nothing, shrugging I pressed new game only to be surrounded by swirling colors and deposited into a room with several manikins in different outfits. Confused I stepped up to the first one that had a version of lances outfit in dark red and silver rather than black and blue reading the sign in front of it said, Jason is a cousin to the famous Blackthorn family. Gaining a dratini as his starter he is great at taming unruly pokemon but not so much the milder ones. +10 to draconic type relations -10 to all others. Hmm, guess this is a character background creator based on tweaking myself, weird but kind of fun.
Reading numerous others like Pikachu fanatic, a wannabe master for each type of pokemon, and junior professor, I found I couldn't decide. Custom background creator requested? Popped up I immediately nodded yes. Which led to another screen appearing with drop-down menus. First was family connections, Stone, Montgomery, and Blackthorn where just a few of the names there each with a number next to it, wondering what the number was seemed to cause another screen to pop up, Each choice comes with a cost of Hero points, Hero points are to be used throughout your character creation for various perks and traits right now you have 208 points based upon previous playthrough achievements. What plays through? What is this thing talking about? Whatever… now, what should I pick? Most of these determine your starter apparently some seem to give perks like the oaks give access to a restricted database. Whoa. The Azleon family is ridiculous, 20 points are the most on here the next highest few is 10 one of which is Wataru the current champion's family. Just who is Azleon and what is king's gene? You know just for the heck of it I will pick that one, next choice is mentors, all the regional professors seem to be here as well as gym leaders, plus a few I don't recognize. The one I think would be most useful is Samuel Oak due to the gaining the latest Pokedex. Though being mentored by a champion is tempting they are also expensive at 10 each while Professor Oak is only 7 points.
Pokemon preference seems to be divided between egg groups and typing, with each choice getting more expensive, the first is 2 points the second is 4 points the next is 8 points and so on. I chose to go with the dragon, steel, fighting and psychic giving me a +5 to training them and costing me 30 points, next was the pokemon disadvantage, a way to get back points by negatives to training certain types, I went with bug and fairy dropping my spent points by 10. The final menu says childhood event and there are only 5 choices, vacation galore where you went on vacation to famous sites gaining souvenirs 4 points, digital adventure where you were trapped in a digital world and gain a porygon ally 5 points, academy ace you have a reputation of getting the highest marks you start off with bonus in all knowledge skills 6 points, wild child where you were raised by wild pokemon learning poke speech 8 points, and finally at 7 points lucky sonofa where you grew up going to the Game Corner and always winning you get a bonus to the luck stat. choosing vacation galore caused a screen to appear asking if the background was acceptable tapping yes caused a book to form in my hand. Cracking it open I realized it was my own handwriting making a journal about my life I could even remember what happened as I read it.

it is hard to follow in someone's footsteps especially when they are giants. my father was an elite trainer, my mother is a famous fashion designer and my older sister is a coordinator prodigy. there are a lot of expectations for me to be extraordinary as well. I hope to live up to them.

I am on a tour with mom for the next half a year, right now we are in Rota, I love all the old-timey things here, Mom got me a nice ring for when I'm older. I saw pokemon I never even knew existed in a tournament like the Lucario and camerupt that fought it out in the last match. mom wasn't to interest in the battles but loved the dance after with all the dresses and cool suits.

We are traveling through the orange archipelago, things here are so weird but I can see how amazing pokemon are. Some pokemon are huge here while others have different colors than normal while a few are only found here. I had a lot of fun playing the chosen one at Shamouti island during a festival there, they gave me an ocarina and a small songbook for it.

Everybody here in Scarlet city is so superstitious about weird things such as only using the right foot to step into a boat and little things like that. Still though the skill of these water type trainers is amazing, I love the milotic that won, when I told mom that she said Lillian had a feebas she was hoping to evolve into one, when asked if I could start with one she told me it wasn't the best one to start with and left it at that.

We are in alto mare I love riding on the gondolas in the canals. It feels so peaceful here I wish I could just stay here; all this moving around is getting to me. The museum here is awesome even cooler than the one in pewter that we checked out on the way to Rota. The owner even gave me a necklace he called a dragon teeth charm when I could answer all his questions on fossil pokemon.

Lost you for a bit, we are in Sinnoh now and damn its cold, we are visiting the baccer stadium for my 11[G46] th birthday later tonight it looks really fun but I prefer the extreme tri race I saw in Hoenn a month ago, it was a trainer on hoverboard who switched between three pokemon depending on the obstacle usually being a landrace followed by a body of water than a cliff where you had to glide to the finish line. It was so awesome I wish I could have a hoverboard of my own.

I have been studying technology lately and its really fun actually… techno babble … anyway this is our last stop before heading home to celadon, Alamos town the architecture and ingenuity of Goodey is amazing I have a scale model of his space-time towers and a couple ] books the tour guide said where written by him, one is a music book huh maybe I should pick up the ocarina again.

2 years ago, today dad died defending a town from one of the teams. mom has locked herself in her workshop and rose hasn't even called I guess I'm on my own I usually am these days mom is either designing some new outfit or off with her models showing it off and rose hasn't been home since she won her first master rank a year ago. I never thought at 12 I would be cooking, cleaning and looking after myself at home but I guess its good practice for my Pokemon journey.

Been about three years since I wrote in you sorry, but the finish line is in sight graduation day is just a year away. if I'm top in my class I can pick a professor to intern under for the summer before my journey. my only real competition for the spot is Rose Spring. I know I can beat her with my extra credit project though. a rugged hoverboard design so that it can be used in any environment not just streets and skate parks. all I really did was salvage parts from the dump and put them in an old model chassis and make it as many proofs as I could. of course, some of the parts were expensive so I did have to find a job. the old man at the berry farm was happy to have me there and it even helped me learn some tips.

All my hard work has paid off I graduated top of my class and chose professor oak as my mentor for the summer rose and Henry the berry farmer I worked for got me gifts. rose sent me a grooming kit and a good rod she won in contests, go figure. henry was a little tearful when I told him I'd be leaving soon so he gave me a berry pot and several different kinds of seeds to use in it to remember him by and as a thank you for my hard work there. Is it sad that my boss is going to miss me more than my own mother?

Oaks ranch is awesome I've never seen so many kinds of Pokemon. From a hulking Snorlax to a little Skitty they seem to span many regions. I also am learning so much here especially about Pokeball tweaking, something only elites do usually but I seem to have a knack for it, the professor said if I run my designs by him first he will let me take the advanced trainer exam and see if I can pass to get my license.

Tomorrow is the day I get my starter I can hardly sleep from being excited maybe I will work on that healing ball idea I had.
That's a little creepy but whatever, this is just a dream, right? Oh, look a new window has appeared. Choose your stats, stats can be trained to be higher by repeating certain actions. Ten is average for your race and 80 is maxed for your race currently. Each point increase to stats cost an increasing amount of hero points

"How many sections are left?" not really expecting a response to the window that appeared answered with 1 the perks section. Knowing I probably shouldn't dump all my points in one stat I balanced them out at 15 each, this cost me a head-spinning 135 points. Finally, after accepting my changes to stats it was the last selection screen and boy was it a doozy I couldn't even count how many there where cause the list seemed to be endless, I honestly have no clue how long I spent looking at this list trying to decide finally I went with aura reading an ability to look at the aura of a creature, psychic potential the power of a psychic has awakened in you, and kami touch you can feel the spirit of objects. The last was weird but it was only two points while the other two where 12 each using up the last of all my hero points.
