Hermione sat in her chair in front of the studying desk; of course, she was revising for exams. Sweat dripped from her forehead, her eyes were swelled and red and her mouth was cold and dry. This is why:
The day before
"Hi Hermione!" Harry greeted as he approached her chair at the end of class. "I'm sorry I couldn't see you before class, Dumbledore wanted to speak to me and I was trying to get some last minute revision for, you know." Hermione stared at Harry blankly. "No I don't know." Harry used the same expression back, they just stared Blankley at each other for a few moments, until suddenly Harry burst out laughing. "Ha, Ha! Great one Hermione! You nearly had me!" Hermione Stood up and banged the table. "I demand you to tell me, what you were revising for!" By this time a few other boys had turned around. Harry looked at Hermione. "You really don't know do you?" His eyes turned to a glassy, watery state. Sacredness, Hermione thought but what for? He lent forward and whispered in Hermione's ear. "The Grade Exams." He said, and then retreated back. He saw the confusion in Hermione's eyes, as she began to realise. Harry could see she was shivering with fear. "You mean, there's an exam, and I don't know about it, I haven't revised for it and I don't even know the subjects for it?" Harry replied with a quick nod as Hermione bust into a loud vicious scream, lasting for the majority of 30 seconds. After this class turning scream she burst through the door and ran up the changing staircases.
Hermione's POV
I sit here sobbing and wheezing. The exams, how could I not know, I hadn't written it anywhere! Now I can't revise because it is so soon, and of course I can't turn back time, wait, yes I can! My time turner that McGonagall gave to me at the start of the year. But I can't! That's surely cheating! No it is cheating. But if I fail these exams I can't go through to the special lessons that I want to do. I must, but I can't, but I must, but I can't! I have to do it, I can fail these exams! Only just a few days for revision won't do any harm will it? 5 turns will do the trick, of course, no one will ever know, will they?
Narrators POV
That was were Hermione was very wrong, McGonagall kept track of the readings of the Timeturner, fearing this may happen to Hermione. McGonagall clearly stated to Hermione that she could not use the Timeturner for cheating or pleasure. Only for getting to lessons on time, attending more lessons than time could provide and other such things. Every move that Hermione made with the Timeturner was tracked and recorded.
Professor McGonagall's POV
All lessons and talks with pupils complete. Relax. The day is over. Let's see what news of today is. Oh, Miss Granger! Let's look into her mind and see how she's doing with my Time turner. Legilimens! I see. Classes, yes, yes. Lunch, yes, yes. More classes, yes, yes. But wait. Why is she storming out of the room? Why is she crying? Her thoughts on this moment. Should I use the Timeturner? I can't cheat? But I must, to get through the exam. 5 turns will do the trick. What trickery is this? I think aloud, I am ashamed of Miss Granger and I must stop her at once. Where's my Timeturner? This will be dangerous but I have to stop her.
