A/N: This occurred to me when "Be Prepared" from The Lion King came up on my mp3 player. Let me just say that that song is my favorite Disney song ever, and has been since I was like…three. Jeremy Irons is also one of my favorite actors ever. And since I've been going back to Discworld again, I started thinking about him singing the song, and then thought about him as Patrician in The Color of Magic…and then I fan-girled and thought "Hey…if you take some of the lyrics out (like the evil laughter at the end, and the line about the king undisputed respected and saluted...that bit too), then this song is practically Vetinari bang-on…I'll be editing the lyrics a bit to all these tunes. Like, just quietly editing, changing things around…you'll see tomorrow night, I hope.
My second song to come up, right after that one, was the song "Mine Mine Mine" from Pocahontas. One of my other favorite Disney tunes. And I thought "This is pretty much the Thieve's Guild…" And so this series of Disney-based vignettes has been born. I only have about…maybe three or four ideas, including these two, so any reviews with suggestions for possible Guilds/people and a Disney song (or any musical, I'll take Camelot and other songs if you can give me a reason and a link) you think matches is appreciated. Even characters I've done already (I'm sure Carrot has many, and Vimes and Vetinari each probably have two or so…maybe many more for those two, now I think about it…). So I have a helpful list of those I've already got ideas for.
Vetinari: Be Prepared (Lion King), Tale as Old as Time(?) (Beauty and the Beast) (Seeing Sam and Sybil from the Outside as Sybil's friend?),
Angua: Won't Say I'm In Love (Hercules)
Thieve's Guild/Mr Boggis: Mine Mine Mine (Pocahontas) (Is it such a stretch?)
Carrot: I Can Go The Distance (Hercules) (Think on his way to AM and serving Vimes as a Captain),
Vimes: I'll Make a Man Out of You (Mulan), Get Off Of My Back (Spirit),
Sybil: Candle on the Water (Pete's Dragon)
And that's it so far. Suggestions? Edits? Changes? I am so content to hear from you guys and do multiple stories for a single character…seriously, I am. And I'll even do slash if you want, though I have a tumblr (finally) and Archive of Our Own accounts for that. Even pairings I'm not usually for. Give me a song from a musical (any musical, provided you get me a link/video/lyrics) and a reason why. Like Vetinari with Vimes, I only do that if you give me a good reason. But I'm game for it.
Chapter 2 is actually my example, and will be done by the end of the week. I'm gonna try to update all my major stories by the end of next week guys, ebar with me.
