Testing Faith

Anzu stepped over the threshold of her one-time home, she'd be moving in a few hours to a new house with her husband. Stepping over all the boxes that had yet to be moved, she made her way upstairs. The telltale floorboard creaked when she entered her room. Stopping briefly, to look around and see if anyone was looking; she pulled out a hammer and set to work. After 5 minutes, she'd pulled up all the nails and took out the time capsule she'd put there 2 years before. Hating herself for forgetting that she'd put it there in the first place; she nailed the loose board back down and walked downstairs and out the door.

Smiling while she walked down the side walk she began to hum to herself, not really noticing where she was going. She soon found herself at the park she'd spent so many days at in her youth. The years had treated her kindly, at the age of 21 she looked 18 tops and she tended to feel annoyed as no one took her seriously anymore because of it. Grumbling about jerks under her breath she unsealed the time capsule and a picture flew out, landing on the side walk. Jounouchi picked it up, "Anzu, how'd ya get dat?" he asked noting that the picture was of Seto Kaiba in a skimpy maid's outfit with a cheesy grin on his face, he looked drunk. Jou couldn't help but laugh his ass off and run off with the 2nd copy of the picture. Kaiba would never live this down.

Anzu blushed at the memory of her husband's weird actions and ran after Jou. "Give that back." she screamed at him as she ran after him. She snatched the picture away as he was waving it around the arcade to show the others who were snickering. Jabbing him in the ribs she stated, "Jou, don't take my stuff!"

Too late though, the picture had been seen by Seto Kaiba himself and he was a bright red colour, wether from embarrasment or anger she wasn't sure. "I thought you burned that picture." he said quietly, voice laced with a multitude of different emotions as he dragged her outside.

"I destroyed the original, this is the other copy and it was in my time capsule, how was I supposed to know Jou would get his paws on it?" pleaded Anzu with her husband. He harshly snatched the picture from her, teared it to bits and then he stuffed the pieces in his pocket. "Get away from me wench." he stated angrily, "I never want to see you again." The hard headed Kaiba she'd once known was back.

Tears fell down her cheeks, she wanted to blame Jou but she couldn't. She should have disposed of the picture and now the embarrasment he'd suffered forced him back into his shell. "Seto, I love you.." she whispered to him as he turned away. Those simple words made him stiffen, "Stop saying that, if you loved me, than you would have gotten rid of that picture.." he mumbled in return.

Anzu placed a hand on his shoulder, moved closer to him and looked at him with puppy dog eyes, "I made a mistake alright? It happens to everyone, please forgive me Seto..." Seto's eyes softened and he sighed, "Fine, just don't believe that I'll forget this. Because I won't." Anzu laughed softly, "You'll never let me live this down will you?" Seto chuckled, "The mutt won't let me live this down either, so we're even."
