Jon is a young guy, in his early twenty's. He lives in a small city, in a small apartment. He has a job as an assistant manager at his local coffee shop that pays the bills and supplies his habit. I mean, hobby, not habit. Yes, defiantly a hobby. The hobby in question is, playing video games! You were thinking something else weren't you? No? … Aright then, moving on. Jon here happens to have a massive collection, he dedicates hours upon hours of his free time to gaming. He practically owns every console known to man. Even going as far as renting out a storage locker in order to house his oversized collection.
Now out of all the games in his collection, one stands out as his favorite. Its a PC game, and surprisingly a small indie game. Bought in its alpha stage it cost about twelve dollars. It started out as a dream, such as this piece. A thought, by a humble man named... Notch. The game this man created turned into the masterpiece sandbox game known to the world simply as Minecraft.
Now, where our story begins. Late one Friday night, Jon returns home from a long day at the soul grinder known as the coffee shop where he is employed. As he walks through the door he lets out a sigh of relief and places a case of Dr. P in the fridge, placing it next to a near empty case of the delicious soda. Satisfied to himself that his stock of hydration has been replenished. He grabs the last one out the fridge, popping the top and siting back into his custom made gaming chair and slipping his shoes off. After getting settled in for a great night of gaming Jon boots up his super computer running the latest version of Minecraft, with ultimate gaming mouse in hand Jon slides his cursor over to click "start a new game".
While waiting for the game to load, the lights go out. Jon hops up in anger, with his newly generated world is now lost forever because unfortunately, Jon was not bright enough to buy a battery back up to protect all of his expensive goodies. Disappointed, Jon waits, and as if like magic. The lights turn back on. Jon bends over to cut his machine back on, and then... Wham! Jon's vision goes completely out. His body drops lifelessly to the floor, and with it his control on his mind slowly slips away with it.
